I've only played the longer games to be honest, playing the IJN AI at the moment in one and just lost four carriers to a fleet of seven (count em ) CV's and two CVL's, so I'm kinda getting pissed off with it. If you can think of any reasonably balanced shorter games let me know

and coral sea is roughly equal

2 CVS ag 2 CV and one old CVL

tho ur CAGs would be superior in EXP lvls

I thought I was being, they had been pounding the crap out of guadalcanal and I assumed the lull meant they had pulled back to Truk to re arm. They appeared just off Gili Gili, I got the first attacks in, in fact they didn't even launch in the first phase, and i scored six bomb hits spread over five carriers. I think the AI put that many down the smoke stack of the Yorktown

ur fatigue lvl was prolly high, plus u had AC damaged no doubt

and ijn carrier pilots were GOOD

they werent that good after thewy started dyin tho, and the idiots didnt rotate experienced pilots back to japan to train new pilots like we did, so we killed all the experienced pilots, and they just couldnt replace em

and how was ur fuel level and CAP?

alot of things can contribute to the death of a carrier, or carriers in ur case

My task force had been laid up in cairns or cooktown waiting for a week long thunder storm to pass, my bomber pilots were all fat 0, moral 80+. The thing that killed me was all three waves ran into 80-100 zeros flying CAP. That and the 200+ Vals and Kates they sent back at me. Only one of my carriers didn't go down instantly.

At least I still have my Wirraway's

lolz

another of the many things that can kill a carrier?

bad luck

tho i woulda left em in noumea so theyd be a bit safer

ur fighters were at 0 FAT too right?

the Kido Butai is usually LETHAL at 0 FAT

my guess is that the carriers that got urs wrere at 0 FAT too

thats a biig part of why we call it...

THE DEATH STAR
