hey guys, im new to this game so the questions i give you may seem dumb but please bear with me.

1.) when making maps, how do you use sidewalks?
2.) how do you set counter battery fire?
3.) when playing a solo campaign, how do you upgrade to the current units rather the units of the previous map (i.e. m4a3 -> m4a3(76) instead of m4a1 -> m4a3)

and also any tips and hints you guys can give me on how to really beat my enemies would be greatly appreciated!

1. I am not sure, Im sure one of the map gurus will pop in here eventually.
2. Counter battery fire cannot be set manually.
sometimes your batteries if they are in range and dont already have a fire mission, will automatically counter fire the enemy battery.
3. When you go to "FIX" your units after a battle, you should also be able to upgrade units too.
Hope this helps
Good gaming

Re: Counterbattery Fire

I believe that in order to do counterbattery fire that you must have offboard artillery that is larger in caliber than the enemy battery. So, if the enemy is firing offboard arty that is 105mm, you must have offboard arty that is bigger, like 150mm for example. If the other battery is firing 105mm, you won't be able to counterbattery fire with 75mm guns.

It has something to do with the range capability. In general, larger guns can fire their shells a greater distance than smaller guns. Any artillery experts out there who may want to elborate on this or set me straight if I am mistaken?
