Any way my post is pure teory and i just wanted to se what Veldor will say about it as from the things i read in his posts he's probably some kind of Lawyer so i just wanted to share some experience if any one is offended by my post please delete it and im not deffending Sledgehammer by any means

A real attorney would not be telling you what the results of legal action will be. What you're hearing from Veldor is "lay" advice, and it's worth what you paid for it.

I have not made any untrue statements. And everything I've posted in this thread was posted with the most positive of intentions.

Once again your post is OFFENSIVE against me, just like your OFFENSIVE posts against WITP and MATRIX.

Your remarks are HATEFUL and uncalled for.

You are among those that ruin the forum experience here for everyone.

I hope David moves to ban you as well..

Nothing you ever post in response to me is either positive, encouraging, or constructive. I imagine your other posts are equally valueless.

What a waste...

Seriously, I enjoy the signature art that has come into these forums. It is just about all excellently done, adds flavor and color, and I hope you all keep it. I respect the talents and taste of those who have created it, and I say, "Well done."

This whole thread is enough to tempt me to create a sig image for the first time, big, full of colorful images (including half-naked women and worse), and specifically tailored to p1ss everybody off.

I dare ya...

As to the valueless part...it is up for debate......but I have never seen posts from him to be hateful or offensive. Nik takes some getting used to...spend that time and you will like the old crotchety bastard...

If you uncheck the box "show pictures" in IE it also turns off all the banners, avatars, billboards and anything witha picture. Streamlines forum use where all that stuff is allowed.

Hello Oleg aka Slaghtermeyer

I am also asking the forum community to please ignore completely and disreguard any post made by Oleg/Slaughtermeyer in the past or the future.

Slaughtermeyer's real name is Oleg?!? Funny... I noticed the guy was banned, and with good reason too.

Sorry Oleg / Mastruko

I did not mean to in any way connect you to the other Oleg I was dealing with. Please let it be known that Oleg Mastruko is not the person that was banned from the forums and is a respected and helpful member of our community.

Hummm

Theres international agreements that may make someone outside USA liable even in their own nation for a violation if its something within international law/agreements... so hacking could possiable be prosecuted that way.

As to suing, to sue someone would require knowing real name, etc.

Such could also involve the persons ISP in a suit..

Such ISP might not be happy drug into it..

Take a gander at how also some companys have gone after people outside USA, like microsoft after worm writers..

Sooo don't bet the farm being in another nation prevents any legal actions besides if it also violates a persons own nations laws...info can pass to the authorities who would come after ya in your own nation

Courts don't have time for such nonsense.

I would hope it would be thrown out as soon as everyone walked into the court room.

Is silly how everyone yells sue over the stupidest things.

If you really intend to keep this up Matrix can sue you and you can be prosecuted under several laws now. Many of these laws have been around for some time including the cyber trespassing laws that went to the Supreme Court and various related supreme court rulings in states like California, Illinois, etc.

What would those laws be Veldor? Can you name any of them?

You should not be giving out legal advice because much of what you wrote is very much incorrect and who knows maybe someone will hold you liable for giving false legal advice.

No one pissed on anything of mine but reading some of this stuff is like getting teeth pulled.

In truth the rules of the forum are simple and direct. I am sure the admins will handle it without all the silliness.

Unfortunately, those rules, which are simple and direct to you and I, aren't simple and direct to certain other individuals, which was the reason for this whole incident.

You are right terminus but that was not the point.

Really perhaps just deleting the guys post and leaving it at that would be the best thing.

Advertising the banning through sticky is like public execution and denouncement, then reading all the "lawyers" statements of legal action was just too much to take without commenting. Now I do not disagree with sticky and public discourse but then to be fair you have to listen to people like me too, those that don't pat such actions on the back and give it a "that-a-boy" and "kick him in the face while he is down".

Perhaps if people were not allowed to speak ill of people who are banned and can not defend themselves in the forum there would be no issue at all and no need for them too feel they need to cheat to get back on the forum to defend themselves.

Well, yeah... The point was mostly that this guy had been banned not once, but something like six times, each time coming back under a slightly different handle, bragging about the fact that he could avoid IP address banning.

Yes you are correct. There are no laws in existence for internet usage, hacking, DOS, or any other computer crimes what-so-ever. Sometimes my imagination goes a bit wild and I have delusions about where and what I've done and the world that I live in.

The world is built and run on computers these days and you really think that there are no laws that protect anyone?

You may not be able to argue freedom of speech when you spraypaint someone's house, but that argument might just work in some other situation where it should in fact be just as equally worthless. Most computer-related laws are vaguely defined or end up dated in their specifics when vividly defined. This does not mean they do not exist or that they are not applicable. It is up to those involved in the process and/or the trial itself to make a case or not.

The fact is ISP's these days are getting so hammered with subpoena's to provide information related to these cases that they are willing to spend small fortunes to implement technology and solutions that allow them to more easily comply with such requests.

So profitable has this area become that even leading vendors, like Cisco Systems, are tailoring hardware and solutions aimed specifically at solving this massive problem...
