reverting to 8.3 from 8.4

Status: offline 		Well, I found 8.4 too hard for me - I can not stop german tanks spearheads, and infantry now useless vs tanks. I'm wondering if I'll try to put 8.3 patch over 8.4, will I revert to 8.3 or just screw the installation ?

In a way this works.

You should install/unpack the 8.3 patch into a seperate directory. Then copy/paste the mech.exe form this unpacked 8.3 into your Steel Panthers Wold at War directiory. Its just a replacement of teh mech exe file.

This saves any other changed that are in the 8.3 patch wiping out any thing yo have modified and still keeps the new version of the OOB editor. You would already have all the other 8.3 patch issues in the SPWAW directory.

8.4 was really just the mech.exe change and oob editor.

Status: offline 		Not working - there is no mech.exe in 8.3. It's a pure oob and such patch :(

Status: offline 		Take the Mech.exe from 7.1 or 8.2 then run the 8.3 patch. If that doesn't work email me a Vikingno2@yahoo.com and I will send you a copy of the mech.exe from my 8.3 game

Stay away from the 7.1 mech.exe as it will want the smoke.avi thingy..
Use the 8.2 one.
