In a way this works.
You should install/unpack the 8.3 patch into a seperate directory. Then copy/paste the mech.exe form this unpacked 8.3 into your Steel Panthers Wold at War directiory. Its just a replacement of teh mech exe file.
This saves any other changed that are in the 8.3 patch wiping out any thing yo have modified and still keeps the new version of the OOB editor. You would already have all the other 8.3 patch issues in the SPWAW directory.
8.4 was really just the mech.exe change and oob editor.
