Bugger! Clark fell faster than I thought possible and now the road is open to Manila with nothing but disrupted troops to defend it. I had hoped that Clark would hold for a few more days but alas things have turned sour.

In Burma Sneaky Sneer has by-passed my troopsholding the river crossing into Rangoon and is making a bee-line towards Taung Gyi and also Mandalay. His move has suprised me and it looks like the three Brigades that are in or around Taung Gyi will be hit hard, and I fear that I might even loose all of them.

While the last few days in the DEI and also in the PI have been bad with huge shipping losses, Sneer, Sneak that he is, has left most of the airfields and therefore the aircraft intact. It remains to be seen if he will use his carriers to try and suppress the Dutch airfarce and simply use land based bombers.

I have now lost all contact with his carriers and have little, nope make that NO idea where they are. I suspect that they are simply re-fueling and re-arming in readyness for the assault on Java and Borneo.

nothing worth commenting - burma explained by Raver - i did not wanted to attract too much attention to that movement
very nice result of attack at Singapore - should fall really soon
as far as anti shipping use of KB is ok to me - you strike forces that can disrupt your landings (BB can't be everywhere) striking dutch airfields with carrier based a/c is not worth points and pilots lost (my navy pool is diminishing fast)
I have enough LBA as you may see to demolish any enemy in region- but who knows if Raver concentrate his forces then it will be worth striking back - as far as dutch air force is dispersed there is no threat and nothing worth risk

After many initial successes I'm slightly disappointed now
I would expect many things to go faster
Raver is tricky in Burma He defends Rangoon crossing with 200AV and has 3 Bde east of Rangoon on my flank
I managed to cut him from mainland and was forced to cross river - bloody day for army.
Raver's strategy is risky but if he succedds he will win lot of time in Burma or force me to use troops from Malaya campaign.
My BB are like magnets for enemy 2e bombers :-)
HK at 0 fort
troops should enter Manila tomorrow
Singapore reduced to 3 forts
no major fleet activity
What I made much better then ever before is supply management - I'm really pleased of this as I have enough supplies on front to cover next 2 months

From Sneer's current possition he could make a move into India, but he still need to secure the oil fields in the DEI, and until he does so I cannot see him making any bold adventures beyond his inital objectives, at least not for the next few months. Once he has the oil fields in his hot little hands the Pacific will be his oyster, or so he thinks. I plan to throw a few curve balls.

india, australia or central pacific are campaignswhich have one cheracteristic - once you commit LCU there you will not withdraw them 3 months later to take oil fields.
So there is no way to forget about java and borneo now.
there are many ways to prepare each theater for major swing in offensive movement like securing burma for india or securing PM for OZ movement or secure gilberts and run south for central Pac movement. all can be done in the same time as dei is secured.
players can use diffrent openings but all must move to java/borneo/ sumatra till april/may unless they want to lose game. later each game is diffrent

Given the speed with which he took Singapore and Clark, I'm not sure it will take that much time. BTW, what is wrong with your artillery? Your bombardment attacks either do nothing, or lose as many units as you destroy.

allied fighted tooday a very good battle in Manila - I was in theory ready but my bombers due to weather did not supported and instead of low forts (only 1!) and numerical advantage i failed to make a progress
bloody river crossing at Yenen - mostly troops are disrupted but it will give my enemy enough time
Singapore harbour clear
Rangoon taken and 4 burmanes brigades start having problems
I'll doo my best to bring problem to the rest of burmanese army

The river ran red with jap blood. Ha!
In the meantime my move out of Rangoon to meet Sneer at the river has come unstuck. The bugger used jap paras to to swipe Rangoon under my nose while to the north he has sent a blocking force. I now have three Brigades in some real trouble.
