There I was, pal, coaching the 1927 Yankees. This was one of my first little attempts at PureSim, and I figured I ought to put myself in a position to win while learning. Ruth was in a season-long slump. Gehrig couldn't hit his @$$ with both hands. I figured it would wear off. It didn't. It was a helluva season. The Babe tatered 26. The Iron Horse hit .283. We finally crawled into the Series by two games over the hated Red Sox. Series against the Bums went seven games. We're down by one run in the eighth at home, one out, one on. Ruth steps to the plate. I'm muttering "Casey at the Bat" under my breath as I click the mouse button. Sure enough, the ball winds up in the left-center-field bleachers, the bullpen holds up - for once - and history repeats itself - but barely. It was great. I think I'm better now.
