Jliven61 -> Replays (11/25/2005 1:50:23 AM)

I am really loving this game and having a good time playing through the 74's season with St. Louis. I would like to hear from others who have had experiences in replays and how they have gone as far as, replay vs actual.

I am in the middle of a bad 5-6 weeks. Starting pitching which was solid is now very inconsistent, bullpen which was "lights out" early has blown three of my last four games. I win one, lose two, win a couple lose three straight and have gone from 8-9 games above .500 to two below. I just lost to the lowly Expos 9-3 as their #5 starter handcuffed me for 8 innings.

Just like in real life this game can be a "heartbreaker" at times. I have made some personnel moves primarily minor ones moving up minor leaguers, etc. I am pondering making a trade or two, but don't want to jump the gun as I am still only 2.5 games out in mid-June.

Would be nice to hear from others who are currently replaying on how their seasons have turned out, etc.

There I was, pal, coaching the 1927 Yankees. This was one of my first little attempts at PureSim, and I figured I ought to put myself in a position to win while learning.

Ruth was in a season-long slump. Gehrig couldn't hit his @$$ with both hands. I figured it would wear off.

It didn't. It was a helluva season. The Babe tatered 26. The Iron Horse hit .283. We finally crawled into the Series by two games over the hated Red Sox.

Series against the Bums went seven games. We're down by one run in the eighth at home, one out, one on. Ruth steps to the plate. I'm muttering "Casey at the Bat" under my breath as I click the mouse button.

Sure enough, the ball winds up in the left-center-field bleachers, the bullpen holds up - for once - and history repeats itself - but barely.

It was great. I think I'm better now.

Pasternakski, what caused you at that point from questioning the validity of the Puresim game itself? I mean the 27' Yankess are possibly the greatest team ever, or at least one of the top ones. I am playing the 74 Cards who were pretty ordinary, but still finished only 1.5 games out of first, and I am struggling. You had the 27' Yanks!
