Svennemir -> RE: What is the ugliest WWII tank (2/24/2006 2:35:37 AM)

I've frequently been thinking about this, and have reached similar conclusions: the KV-2 is indeed extremely ugly, looks like one of the tanks a guy in my school drew aeons ago. Having also considered the Tzar tank, I don't find it particularly ugly, but rather quite funny. Generally, though, it is much easier to find ugly tanks in WWI. Renault FT 17 was still in use in WWII at certain locations, so I guess that makes it a candidate. Other WWI candidates would be A7V and St. Chamond, but they probably were no longer at the time :). The japanese engineering tank is very funny, I hadn't seen that one before. FT 17: http://www.panzerbaer.de/types/pix/f_pzwg_renault_FT-17-001.JPG A7V: http://www.waffenhq.de/panzer/a7v_05.jpg St. Chamond: http://www.commanderseries.com/armor/1055-STCHAM.jpg Other tanks exist that are quite aesthetically displeasing, but if their ugliness stems from scariness (e.g. Mark IV), they don't really count in this competition IMHO. Sorry about all the WWI stuff, but I can't find that many ugly ones from WWII. The Sturmtiger is somewhat ridiculous because of its large gun.
