Yeach while we happily were killing each other the Russians grew stronger and stronger first they crushed Sweden in the "Northern War" and then Russians took part in the dividing of Poland as for Battle near Warsaw yep you won[:D] but you only achived 2 to 1 kill ratio when we chived something like 25 to 1 [:D] but that dose not matter any way you had luck that you escaped as you were surrunded there[:D] and your victory did not change nothing as Poles recaptured Warsaw and repled something that is called "Swedish Flood" in Poland...[:D][:D][:D]

I just had a depressing thought. So many battles. So many people hitting each other with bigger and bigger sticks. Sigh. Sucks to be Human. sniff Cant we all just get along? Well, anyway, keep those paintings coming!

How are the winters in Ireland? I grew up in New England. I get bitterly cold there. (Temps falling to zero degrees farenheit. That's what, -15 degress celcius?)

It maybe a bit OT but has anyone wondered why the kids are taught less and less? I have a daughter of 6 yrs she is going to primary scholl this fall and it it really a headache which one to choose.

If it is like our schools your daughter will have a demonstration of a Native American dance but have no idea where this place called America is on the globe. Even worse she'll learn to use a calculator to multiply numbers by one.

lithuanian grand prince wladyslaw jagiello was married with polish queen jadwiga and became the first king from jagiellonian dynasty. union between our countries was "personal" so poland and lithuania had one king, each has it's own national institutions, organs, whatever... i'm too old for that...

hi i know facts... btw, Jadwiga was daughter of Luis I of Hungary (Angevin) and Elizabeth (Kotromanic, from Bosnia) his second wife. He died with no sons and one of this two daughters (Mary, born in second merriage with Elisabeth of Bosnia) should inherit Hungarian throne. Poland lords did not want to continue the personal union with Hungary, and not to accept Mary's fianc� Sigismund as a regent. Instead of this they chose Mary's younger sister, Jadwiga, as their new monarch. I was more interested in social relations between these two countries (learned facts in the past), but i see that you are too old for that......

No No Poland and Luithania were equal in the Union... both had their own Courts , Trsures , taxes and such the only thing that was the same was the Ruler who was named King in Poland and Grand Duke in Luithania[:)] As for Personal Union with Hungary it existed for some short time somwhere between 1440 and 1444 when we shared the King Wladyslaw nicknamed "Warnenczyk" after his death in the battle of Warna[:)]

And his nick name was Dobze Loius in Hungary because that was his saying. 'Very well", he said to almost to anything. Well he was one of our worst kings if you apolgize there is anothe personal union with Poland which I remmeber more willingly. Stefan Batory.
