Moonwolf -> Scenario Design Question (7/18/2000 4:13:00 AM)

How do I set things up so that reinforcements will stay in the trucks they have been loaded in? I have a scenario where the reiforcements need to come in on a road and proceed down the road -in trucks.- They all come in on the right turn, but immediately unload. Additionally, the trucks do not use the Waypoints set out for them, instead immediately deviating from the first hex as if they know the enemy is just around the corner. This is an historical ambush situation, and the trucks need to stay loaded. The enemy is hidden, not in LOS to the Reinforcement Hex, or the next few hexes along the Waypoint -- so the Reinforcements can't be seeing the ambush and reacting to it -- however, their actions do suggest that the AI knows the enemy is close by. Anyway, is there a way I can keep these guys in their trucks until they get fired upon, or they reach the end of their waypoints . . .? ------------------ Ed Mortimer Meglio un Giorno da Leone

I don't think so, Ed, but I am going to try a few experiments to see what can be done. The charging truck syndrome in all other versions of SP was a pain so the coding was changed. It does affect an ambush scenario. One option would be personnel carriers with stripped down armor and no weapons, but that is a fix you might not wish to entertain. I'll see what I can discover...WB ------------------ In Arduis Fidelis Wild Bill Wilder Coordinator, Scenario Design Matrix Games

Thanks. I've already gone that route. It works. ------------------ Ed Mortimer Meglio un Giorno da Leone
