Panta_slith -> Head to Head annoyance (9/24/2006 5:20:11 PM)

I hadn't played FPG H2H yet, but as I am checking some details to create a scenario, I gave it a try today, playing both sides myself.
Some annoying thing I noticed: after NATO gives his/her orders and WP does the same, when you answer yes to the popups which ask you to confirm if the battle can begin, the WP units positions flash briefly before the screen switches to dual players mode, giving the NATO player a hint of where the Evil Reds might be.
I suppose that that's a graphic card thing and that not many players play H2H nowadays, but just in case for the next game...
Cheers,
Panta

We'll check it out. We are working on an update right now.

Thanks for the info.

All right, since you're already there, here's another minor annoyance:
when reviewing the WP units (during the WP turn) the popup which appears when you put the mouse over some of them indicates "unidentified vehicles", as shown in the attached screen capture. Are those folks rebellious or what? We're WP, indiscipline shall not be tolerated!
Cheers,
Panta

Addendum to my previous posting and other oddities noted:
1-The problem indicated in my previous posting also happens for the NATO side.
2-Playing manually both sides, I have noticed that NATO arty localizes and blasts WP units that are not in view during the NATO player orders phase. Perhaps the AI staff is too much efficient!
Cheers,
Panta

"Unidentified Vehicles" is a way of say there are less then 3 runners in the unit. It does not mean that you don't know what they are by type, just no good count is known.

Both sides can locate HQ units by message traffic and fire on them. In some cases if the HQ unit is sitting in a square with other units they can also get hit.

Hope this helps.
