HussarGames -> For Liberty! release information (11/9/2006 11:02:39 AM)

At Hussar Games we are excited to be able to distribute our game through Matrix Games, the biggest publisher of wargames.
We will be listening closely to our fans through these forums, if you have any questions or if you find a bug let us know.
We worked hard to improve on the game for this release. Please see below the list of changes and enhancements.

Patch 1.70

Note: Alfred = the AI (Artificial Intelligence) of the game

Changes and fixes

Minimap was added to tactical battles
Cannons now gain experience when bombarding or defending in a fort
'Fort specialist' and 'Arty officer' leader abilities are now factored in during bombardments (previously they were only applied when 2 arty batteries were fighting each other).
Normal cannons no longer participate in bombardments (this was a bug)
Infantry firing arc is now restricted to 30 degrees in tactical battles when using the Advanced ruleset
Extra large battlefields (42x42 hex) were introduced in tactical battle. The extra large maps are used when both players have more than 20 units and if there are more than 50 units overall.
Terrain is more varied now, especially in open terrain hexes. Terrain tiles can now be partially off-map and this results in more realistic and varied battlefields.
Campaign editor was added (see editor_manual.pdf), the game can now load user-created campaigns.
A sample user campaign was added to the game for the American theater. This is a hypothetical and balanced campaign.
Influence system was changed a bit again, transferring units now only requires influence when moving the unit from an Influental leader
Some leader stats were changed in the American theater, there are less leaders now with both the 'Trainer' and the 'Influental' special ability.
Some inland hexes were incorrectly designated as coastal hexes.
Reworked the fatigue system in tactical battles

Will this patch fix the bug below?  My card cannot be fixed with turning off SLI.

Thanks!

Gary

Hi,

I have checked your card and is definitely the SLI bug. The bug is an incompatibilty of SLI configs and our graphics engine, but it is the NVIDIA driver that crashes. I know that your card is officially not an SLI, but in fact it is 2 cards.
I just updated and expanded our error report to them. I really hope they will look into it soon.

Regards,

Bulcsu

DIV { MARGIN:0px;} Bulcsu,  the game crashes with a black screen and sometimes restarts the computer.  This occurs when a scenario starts loading.  No error message is listed.    I am using Nvidia Geforce 7050 GX2, Intel 975BX motherboard with latest bios , Crucial 2 gigs of memory specific for the motherboard.  I have no issues with any other software on this system.   Gary

Unfortunately, the SLI bug is in the NVidia drivers, Nvidia must fix their driver.
