Redd -> Antivirus program? (1/28/2007 6:17:22 PM)

I finally got my game in the mail the other day, after it went on a whirlwind tour of first the U.S., and then california. According to USPS tracking it actually bounced into and then out of state twice, and then toured all of the main hubs in northern califonia for a while (hitting some hubs multiple times). But in the end it did eventually get to my local PO. I think that next time I'll pay the extra freight for UPS, as a private company cannot afford to to be as inefficient as a governmental agency. I managed to get the game installed. Sometimes it runs, sometimes I get errors and it wont run. I only have 512 megs of ram so that's likely the problem, and I know about the fixes so no worries on that score. But I did have one obsevation and a question. While installing the game, it asks you input the seriel number that is printed on the cd. Printing on the cd is a great improvement over how I received the seriel # for WitP, but it"s kind of hard to read while the cd is in the drive. Perhaps if you put the # on disk #2 it would make things easier. A minor point to be sure, but just a thought. Now to my main question. At the beginning of the install there is a warning about not having your antivirus program running, as it might cause problems. Fair enough, AV programs are notorious for causing all kinds of problems. But at the end of the install I'm asked if I want to install some antivirus program that I've never heard of before. Huh? If Norten A-V is problematic, some no name program thrown in for free makes me a bit nervous. Is this a Matrix program, or did DR tack it on? Surprising me at the end of a game install is hardly the way to distribute a non related product. Is it any good? Is it bad? Should I have installed it? Will it work better with Matrix products? Since I had no clue what to do at the time, I declined to install it. Has anyone else installed it, and if so, how did it work for you? Any information would be most welcome.
