I'd say just work on keeping Stalingrad, Leningrad, and Moscow.

SMK-at-work -> RE: Soviet Turn 1 (3/12/2007 2:29:54 AM)

Yeah - you've got no business keeping hold of Smolensk!! :)

Once more unto the breach dear friends......

Oh yeah and one other thing - the lists of losses don't do anythign for me - a few lines here and there perhaps if you have a point you want to illustrate, but the whole shebang jsut seems liek a waste of space...

Love the gif's tho - hoping to do one of my own shortly....

Okie dokie....point taken.

Veers -> RE: Soviet Turn 1 (3/12/2007 4:13:09 AM)

On the other hand I like to see your Rifle Squad, armour, and aircraft losses every turn, gives an idea of how the battles are going, especially when they can be compared against your earlier matches.

SMK-at-work -> RE: Soviet Turn 1 (3/12/2007 4:47:27 AM)

Veers is a losses grog![:D][:D]

Zort -> Axis turn 2 (3/12/2007 7:24:41 AM)

Yep once more into the breach. I am sort like Veers in that there are some losses I keep track of. Heavy inf, armor, 150 light guns/150mm guns and the axis minors. So below are what I look at. SMK and I are doing a game in which I am the Soviet, I am amazed how everyone else can get those forces into defensive positions while all those grey guys are coming at ya.

I have tried to be a little more aggressive this game. But in some cases I wasn't aggressive enough. Still have a hard time taking losses when I know the Soviets are going to come back with a vengence.

One of the biggest issues I have had is deciding where to send certain troops. As I have gotten more familiar with the map I have a better idea of where to send guys. Still have lots of traffic jams and some indecision on where to go. Of course I just might bypass Smolensk just to tick Larry off.[:D]

Zort -> RE: Axis turn 2 (3/12/2007 7:31:48 AM)

Here is a pix of where I am now. I like Larry's movies better then mine.

Just out of curiousity, what info do you guys want to see in these AAR's?

Gifs and jpgs..[:D] Maybe a scheme when you have outlined a certain operational plan ,hm, how to bypass Smolensk i.e. [;)] or an analysis on a more strategical scope, but that would mean that the AAR comes with a certain delay due to opsec. Currently it's more actual, right? Turn fired to opponent, pics fired in the forum.
What is your advance tactics? Fire the roadblocks away on the earliest combat round possible or bypass and eliminate them later? Advance in force or let the recon do the hex conversion before the bulk of the grey flood comes in?
Especially i like Larry's animated gifs, but these are limited to a few turns due to upload size limits on imageshack and the huge map.
So, a call for all of you that own some webspace: Let Larry upload big gif files!

EDIT: Keep on the show guys! Very entertaining.

EDIT2: What are the modifications of 4b?

Zort -> RE: Axis turn 2 (3/12/2007 6:58:49 PM)

EDIT2: What are the modifications of 4b?

1. Made a theater option to allow the Finns to come in before turn 6.
2. Allowed German units in northern Finland to move/attack on turn 1.
3. Set Soviet shock to 95 from turn 3 to 7.
4. Reduced soviet production multiple on turn 48 to 200% then upped it on turn 78 by 150%.
5. Separated the Axis allies rifle squads out. (now you have to manage those forces better)
6. Added the 150mm light gun, took out the 150mm gun from the German/Finish inf regts.
7. Upped Soviet rail to 9000 on turn 9 to 12.

Next I want to change the soviet rifle structure so there is a decline in those toward the end of the war. But first have to get past 41 in testing. Want to add some soviet a/c. SMK has some numbers that will allow the addition of more a/c.

Any thoughts on whether or not to use the equipment WWII-Db V1.2 for FITE?

Somewhat akin to what I have in my WF AARs over at XG? (WHich is why those AARs are so delayed. [:D]

I don't think it is worth it - there's nothing in there for the Soviets apart from a new 45mm gun, and many of the German squads are differentiated by the number of MG's, the range of the PzFaust, etc.

And that's a LOT of work to incorporate I suspect.

Fine if you have the time, but I would't go out of your way .....

Thanks, I didn't see much for the soviets. And the time to do it would take away from playing.

Zort -> Axis turn 3 (3/13/2007 11:51:11 PM)

Here are some of my losses so far. Heavy losses with the heavy rifle squads. My plan...hmmm. Kill lots of Russians. I am playing two games with SMK and Larry, sent the same first turn to both. Now I can try something on one and fix it on the other!! But will try to compare my losses between the two games.

SMK-at-work -> RE: Axis turn 3 (3/13/2007 11:57:41 PM)

Yes sadly i shall be the recipient of Buzz's experiences against Larry - having to work for a living means I can only get in 1 turn/day max.

donations to my retirement fund so I can play more FitE are welcome!![:D][:D]
