In creating players, is there any formula to how numbers are assigned? For example, what power rating do you give to a guy with 10 HRs? 20 HRs? or 40 HRs? Is it on a curve or is it a set value? Same for contact and speed.

Any help would be appreciated so I don't have created players leading the league in all the triple crown categories.

Thanks!

Wow, 61 views and no answers...I'd even go for your best guess or even some "house rules" you use. When you create a guy, what sort of formula do you use? Or what is your thought process?

There are a lot of rookies starting this year plus an influx of Japanese guys so I know that may not be a perfect science since those numbers don't translate correctly. But most fantasy baseball magazines have a projection that can be used. How did you guys create rookies for this year? Mostly I 'd like to hear the way you guys determine power, contact and speed as well as control, velocity, and endurance.

Thanks.

I'm sorry I can't help. I've simply never created a guy. The only guideline I can give you, and I know it isn't much, would be to look at the ratings that an existing player has, compare his performance with your expectations of a player and then match them, tweaking as you see fit. If Player X is likely to perform much like Player Y, make their stats relatively similar. If you know Player X to have a stronger arm, bump it by 5 or 10. If you think that Player X may be a little slower, drop his Speed by 5 or 10.

I know that's nothing solid or defined, but without ever having created a player I don't have anything to go by.
