Frozen Stiffer -> RE: Draft slow down (5/31/2007 2:53:36 PM)

KG, Another great guess, but alas no-- there were easily more than 30-40 players (just at first sight) that had the stuff to go STRAIGHT into the majors. For example, I had earmarked a couple of young pitchers (in their early 20s) to put in AAA for 1 year then straight to the bigs. Players which, if I were an AI team, I would have put into the Majors with no time in the minors. We're talking pitchers with Stuff/Velocity/Control in their mid-70s and higher. There were numerous position players with their three offensive ratings, Contact/Power/Eye, also in the 70s. These were not scrubs... oh, no. There were enough seriously qualified "amateurs", that I could have put an entire, contention-worthy, team together using just them.
