I preface this with a I did search and read....
I'm about ready to start a campaign, most likely as Allies and wanted a reccomendation for any mods/maps/addons. From what I have read Nik's seem to be the best from a gameplay side. I know people have friends here but I'd like to hear your preferneces AND a reccomend for me to start with. Theres' CHS and others...not sure which trigger to pull. I appreciate any feedback as I'm sure this has been asked a million times.

Now if I use the new map from Andrew Brown will the Nikmod work?  Or are all of these prettty much all spearate entities?

And is Nikmod 9.2 GC the latest version? I just pretty much got lost...it seem like a good start would be AB's map + the Nikmod. ANyone agree? Problems for me? ANything better?

Nik..are all the scenarios included in your download? If I can find it? lol

Nikmod 9.2 is the latest and greatest (or most infamous depending on opinions)

All it's standard (and one experimental) versions (standard as in standard map) are located here

You just have to unzip contents to the WitP/Scen folder. (Art files go into the WitP/Art folder but arn't crucial to playing the mod, they are just pics on the scenario description screen)

You can find Andrew Brown map versions of Nikmod at his website.

Andrew also has there, two CHS variant scenarios that use the Nikmod A2A changes only.

Lots of variety. Lots of mods.

Excuse me for being dense..lol..but do I need all the 9.2?  As in G, GC 42A etc...which is the main one?  Are these scenarios? That's what's confusing me...

no...each one is a seperate scenario.

GC is the Grand campaign (dec41 - end of war)

42a is may 42 start of grand campaign.

43 and 44 are grand campaigns (full map) starting in those years.

There's also a small scen (Guadalcanal) an experimental and a couple others. All have FAQ's to explain them.

The Duck is safely secured back at my hidden Fortress where i continue to formulate my plans for World conquest. Maybe i'll put up a Blog with a webcam so that one can monitor the progress of the Duck based on hits to Spooky's site........hmmmm

There has been some "blending"

You have CHS which is "combined" in the sense that it was a team effort with individuals contributing elements that make up the whole.

There are a couple of CHS scenarios that use the Nikmod A2A model. Andrew Brown plans to offer one with Big B's mod changes in the future. Treespider has made an alternate version of CHS..elements of which may get into "regular" flavor CHS (it gets confusing i know...so many mods!)

Oh and then there's mods converted to use Andrew's WitP Map.

Then there's "RHS" which is another matter all together. [:D]

I just figured if I'm going to start the campaign, I'm not going to want to restart so i'm trying to figure out the best beginning!

[:D][:D][:D][:D] ...the project is still ongoing despite being "frozen" with amount of 1 000 000 updates every day.

Heck might even try it one day once they actually manage to freeze it! [:D]

One thing about Nik the duck (with all due respect as I admire fanaticks doing all the hard weird job like modding) that keeps me away from his mod (not to mention the duck and a gun) is a

of an initial changes
after previous changes

wich were done by him (with all due respect).

its true that Nikmod is a work in progress and it has a long history stretching back nearly 2 years now and hence....a long FAQ. I've given some consideration to 'shortening' it up in a newer FAQ version and seperating out the "history" in another file.

Its various mod versions have been a combination of new ideas incorporated....some removed, minor tweaks and boo boo corrections. (and one big a$$ bug) [:)]

Feel free to try 9.2....or not. Its all good.

Changes only mean that someone is trying really hard to make his work perfect...
