Dredd! Hold the line! That kind of poor morale will let the krauts past the Marne!? Do you want that!?

IM STILL HOPING FOR THE WEEKEND :)

Erik Rutins -> RE: still on target for July? (7/20/2007 1:25:14 AM)

Ok, here's the news. Unfortunately, as often happens with last minute changes, we hit a snag - this time not on our side but on Digital River's that they couldn't work out in the limited tiem remaining. The result was they wouldn't have it ready to go until tomorrow, so we have had to put the release off until Monday.

To be clear, the release date will definitely be Monday. This was not a snag with the game or anything that will take longer than tomorrow to resolve in the online store, but it caused us to miss today's projected release. Normally, I wouldn't have kept you all hanging like this but since I decided to inform you earlier this week of the release before the last minute change and then the store issue, you've had a peek into the internal loop and how unpredictable things can sometimes be.

So, just one last weekend to go - get ready for Monday and we'll make sure there are no further delays.

Regards,

- Erik

Ah well, I have a poker game Saturday night and golf Sunday morning anyway.

flintlock -> RE: still on target for July? (7/20/2007 3:33:18 AM)

Considering some have been waiting patiently for years for GoA to be released, in the grand scheme of things--a few more days matters little.

sol_invictus -> RE: still on target for July? (7/20/2007 5:14:01 AM)

[:(] Yeah, after five years of waiting, a few more days won't kill me.

My g/f is out of town this weekend. What to do now?

Great advice, Rob. Then he risks ending up in the same position as the hapless fellow in your avatar.

ojnab_bob -> RE: still on target for July? (7/20/2007 7:16:58 PM)

After a legendary wait, I think waiting another 3 days is not a problem at all.  I'm just excited that the end is finally here!  The Australian Light Horse will ride again...

Hanal -> RE: still on target for July? (7/21/2007 10:08:50 PM)

I hope it will be available by Monday at 4:00 am est...I'm working a 16 hour shift starting at 6:00am so I would not mind breaking in a new game during the long day....[;)]

sabre100 -> RE: still on target for July? (7/22/2007 1:24:46 AM)

I am hoping also it will be a Monday morning release and not 5pm Matrix Office time or something.  I am thinking the game is already uploaded to the online store and all DR has to do is just enable it to show up in the catalog for purchase.  Since they had all day Friday to get it ready in the online store...can't wait for this one to be up for sale already [:D]

Terminus -> RE: still on target for July? (7/22/2007 1:31:20 AM)

Certainly looks interesting... If nothing else, then for the "new" subject matter.

FrankHunter -> RE: still on target for July? (7/22/2007 4:05:19 AM)

Yes this game has taken awhile hasn't it?  I started it right after the political problems with Wars of Napoleon.  My daughter was a couple of months old.  She's going to be 10 in a month.  9 years ago the game was "card-based", a system that was scratched and changed to a production system married to an HQ activation system. Amazing how many rewrites the game has gone through.  Just before my dad died he was mentioning to me that it had taken me longer to write a game on WW1 than in took to fight the real one.

Terminus -> RE: still on target for July? (7/22/2007 5:01:21 AM)

Dang! I'd heard it was "only" five years old...[X(]

sol_invictus -> RE: still on target for July? (7/22/2007 5:22:04 AM)

Yes, it's been and epic developement cycle. I think I will faint the first time I see the map on my monitor.[X(]

TheHellPatrol -> RE: still on target for July? (7/22/2007 5:40:52 AM)

[:)]It should be a very SOLID release then...right?[sm=scared0018.gif]

sol_invictus -> RE: still on target for July? (7/22/2007 5:43:56 AM)

Don't even think otherwise.[;)]

But it is the best PC WW1 strategy game I have seen. Well done.

its monday now here in the uk (well it is 00:30 so it is just monday!!) where is the game[;)]

seriousley, what time will we be able to d/l ?

Bossy573 -> RE: still on target for July? (7/23/2007 3:20:05 AM)

Yup, Monday cometh. The decks are cleared and I'm ready to give this bad boy some play time.

Somebody should send a copy to Sergio Garcia to keep his mind off his major choke job in the Open today. Harrington would have been truly Van De Veldesque and I'm glad for his professional future he found a way to recover. That golf course must be unbelievably brutal. Kinda, er, like a linx on the Somme. [8|]

Hanal -> RE: still on target for July? (7/23/2007 11:45:16 AM)

Oh well, no early risers at Matrix today....I'll read everyone's comments about the game while I toil away at work today...[;)]

dave74 -> RE: still on target for July? (7/23/2007 3:30:30 PM)

any news on a time yet, you guys over there in the states must be awake now[;)]

Terminus -> RE: still on target for July? (7/23/2007 3:35:24 PM)

It's about 8.30AM on the East Coast. Give it time...

dave74 -> RE: still on target for July? (7/23/2007 3:45:08 PM)

thats no excuse!!![;)]

you are right of corse, i will leave it a few hours...,

Sytass -> RE: still on target for July? (7/23/2007 5:50:38 PM)

I may be wrong, but it always appeared that main page updates were in the past mostly done at the end of the U.S. EST business day. I, for one, have resigned myself to getting the game tomorrow morning CET, as usual.
