docpaul -> Problem..all of a sudden.. (7/6/2007 4:16:17 AM)

I cannot disband many of my TF's. Ports are big enough, almost like a Southpac vs SwPac thing. Cannot figure out why. I can still download some, but not alot of them, mostly in newly taken over areas, but within my ZOC. Is it an HQ thing? never notvied it before? If anyone knows I appreciate the help!
Thanks

I also just noticed that some TF's are not replenishing in ports I send them too...pleanty of supply there..

Mod?  Stock?  Got the right map files?  Make any changes recently?

docpaul -> RE: Problem..all of a sudden.. (7/6/2007 5:05:42 AM)

This is stock..Guadalcanl..December 5th no mods.  Only thing in game that I've done is I've mixed up alot of TF's from Southpac and SWpac as I take new guinea. DOing alot of ASW with ships that started in SP and are reuleing in SW territory.  Is it a points thing?  Haven't grasped this points thing to well.  But I am crushing the AI at the moment so It's not a resource issue...have no clue...

Differing commands should not matter.  Political Points do not come in to it at all.

What port(s) are you having problems with?  And what size(s) are they?  A port must be size three or larger to disband TFs.  Are you computer-savvy enough to show us a screen shot?

Two of the bases were size 2..my fault..was reading the airfield size whic was a 3. But the selective replentishing of taskforces I don't get.  Can a port ONLY replentish ONE TF per time period?  I could swear it can do more than one..but I screwed up already<bg>  Although it's even happening when only 1 TF is present.  ALl the TF's have moves remaining.  I can do a ss but there's nothing to see for this..

Okay, we've got the disbanding problem resolved.  As for replenishment, you mentioned that the bases have supplies.  Do they also have fuel?  If there is no fuel, then the ships can't refuel.  (Obvious, one hopes.)  Supply will be used to reload ammo but fuel is used to replenish "endurance".

Unless there is fuel at a port, ships will often not reload supplies... and no, i don't know why.

My understanding of that is that if there is no fuel, the game is considering there are no naval supplies, but only land and air, in the base. The only case where the 'magic supply' can be used for anything you want in WITP.

As good as an explanation as any, i guess!! [:D]

There's fuel...

I've either never had that happen to me or haven't noticed it.

Threes and two's...

tsimmonds -> RE: Problem..all of a sudden.. (7/7/2007 11:44:30 AM)

You do have them set to "refueling okay"....?

If a TF does not need fuel, it will not replenish ammo or mines.....

You can always force replenishing by clicking "refuel from port" on the TF information screen. I have never known this to fail to work, except in cases where there was no fuel, or no supplies for ammo, or the TF did not need fuel.

docpaul -> RE: Problem..all of a sudden.. (7/7/2007 5:25:03 PM)

I'll try the refuel right now...think they are all grayed out..The game is all but over..just hunting down his last two carriers.....but I don't know if this is a feature or if I triggered something by doidng somethign wrong(verypossible!)
