ORIGINAL: Nikademus don't know about a new title, but Caputo's "The Pacific War" remains a very good theater wide coverage book. Did you mean Costello's TPW? Excellent book -high-level and descends to detail at just the right times. Yes, thats the one. He gets grief from nitpickers where he transposes or mis-spells a Japanese ship name or two but that does'nt detract from the overall excellence of the work. I think the best written, most interesting section was the pre-history of the PacWar 41-45 where the complex relationship between Japan and the U.S. is examined and shown how it all helped lead to the coming conflict.
