ORIGINAL: Sabre21 I look at it as an investment in this evolutionary process. Way back when there was Pacific war, the grandfather to WitP. I still have my old apple IIe edition of it too. Then there came the matrix edition of it. A new engine, new graphics and we get Uncommon Valor....expand upon that and we have WitP. Better technology comes along and we have an improved engine with expanded maps, new capabilities and we have the Admiral's edition. Eventually WitP II. All worth it in my opinion. If it wasn't for this step by step process, we wouldn't have any of it, and as long as there are those of us that will support it, there will be guys like Matrix and company that will continue to improve upon it. But that takes money, cuz I don't think they are independently wealthy...so it's upon us to do our part, for without each side, there is nothing. I've been buying Gary Grigsby games for 25 years now and I doubt I will stop anytime soon. Sabre I agree with you and all you say here. The question in my mind is that as the tech get better is it always better to make a game bigger and more complex? No matter how hard you try to get everything right a simulation can never replace real life. I like WitP and agree it is the best game for the money on the market. I also think that it is right at the edge of being a little more time taking and complex for me to handle. There are so many things I have to do each turn that I always miss some things. Now that I am starting to get a handle on it along comes AE which I will buy. I hope that even though there will be many new things there still will be an easier playing interface. I find real life a bit overwhelming at time so perhaps WitP is closer to real life than I am willing to admit LOL Back in the board gaming days most of us found that when board games got REALLY big than no matter how much we loved the subject of the game the size and complex nature of the game kept most of us from actually playing them. With computer games is this not also possible or am I just getting old and senile? Madgamer
