It was not my find Gary. One of the forum regulars posted it a little while ago and I loved it so kept a copy. If I could remember who I would give them credit!

it has been posted many times over the past few years... usually the new poster doesn't realize it was done before. [:D]

Hey, cut me some slack. I haven't been around in a while and I don't read every single thread that comes out. I didn't realize it was a quiz. [:'(]

Life is a quiz...

I have heard descriptions of CVEs being rolled and pitched severely. Johnny Walker said something about there being nothing as frightening as watching an escort carrier caught on her beam ends and a Wildcat was once smacked over the bow as the after deck rose so violently just as the plane was landing. The second incident was in the Bay of Biscay I think. I always thought CVLs were a bit bigger and did not suffer so badly. The photos in this thread have educated me. Thanks very much for posting them. Perhaps we could have a rough weather thread where people post all the photos that make them gasp in horror that ships can come through that sort of incident?

The picture below was posted by someone a little while ago. The size of the CVL surprised me when I saw it.

Interesting that CVE's had a starboard island.

I thought a starboard island became standard quite early on in the development of carriers?

The sun is over the yardarm. Perhaps he's been on the Martian Moonjuice?
