November 12th, 1942 The bombers went with the fighters to Chungking today, destroying four Chinese fighters. I should mention these raids on Chungking are also destroying supplies and killing enemy troops. 6 B-25C's visited Adak today, again, their bombs landed off shore scoring no hits. Palmyra was attacked by two waves of enemy bombers and our fighters gave a decent accounting for themselves. First wave was 43 B-24D Liberators, of which 11 didn't make it home. Next was 38 A-29 Hudsons and of those, 12 hit the silk. We lost no fighters in the air, but the bombers that got through managed to hit 6 Oscars and 1 A6M2 on the ground. Dili airbase, on Timor, expanded today. (sz 3)
