I have a game that the intro music is way too loud. Older game that uses ogg files. I fiddled with Audacity till I turned down the volume.

Looking around for other sounds I came across 2000.wav in SPWAW. Nice music.

I think I have heard that, playing a campaign or something maybe.

I got an error when I tried to install the 2009.spm file with modswap (Corrupt file??).

Would it be possible to post the MD5 checksum next to the link in post 1 so you can check the download for corruption? (Standard practice on most Linux sites).

I use the freeware program MD5Mate but there are plenty of others around if you prefer.

"Suffering from corrupt or incomplete downloads? Well, MD5Mate won't fix your problem, but it will make identification of corrupt or incomplete downloads much easier.

By using MD5Mate, you can obtain the MD5 digest (a 128-bit "fingerprint" represented as 32 hexadecimal digits) of a file and compare it to the MD5 digest of another file. If the digests are different, then the files are not the same. With downloaded files, a difference is a good indication of corruption or incompleteness.

You can also use MD5Mate to provide MD5 digests for files that you upload, so that others who download can use MD5Mate to compare their download to your source. MD5Mate reads and writes .md5 files."

(P.S. Generic Mod Enabler on the same site is very similar to Steel Panthers ModSwap but can be used with any game. I use it with WITP and UV.)

Thanks a lot,

Edit: P.S. Fixed it. It was an incomplete download...

I recently purchased SP WaW Generals Edition. This is already on v8.403. I tried installing the 2009 enhance version at the top of tis thread. I get the message that the mod requires SP WaW v8.03 & I must upgrade my version to 8.03 before I can install the mod.

Is there an enhanced 2009 mod for v8.403? If not, how do I install this?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Noypi53: I can't offer you a fix but I can give you a reccommendation...if you plan on playing the MEGA Camps that came with your purchase....DO NOT install the Enhanced version, only one (Desert Fox) mega has been upgraded for that mod. You'll end up with many units that won't look right.
If you have the room on your HD put in a seperate version for Enhanced play only.  Hope this is of some assist.

planner3: Thanks for the advise. I may have to do that.

I am growing to hate that message!!
Enhanced uses the 8.403 mech, something about the genrals edition causes this for some reason.

heres a fix....

open the Enhanced 2009 mod file, inside will be a file called mod.ini (looks like a paper with a gear on it)
open that file and where is says "Game version required=8.3-8.403" remove the 8.3-8.403 part listed there, so all you will have is "Game version required="
Then save file and it should ask you if thats the one you wanna use, say yes
[:)]

Let us know if that works

BTW you CAN INSTALL the Enhanced version simply by using modswap, no need for 2 installs of the game, but would advise uninstalling it (using modswap) prior to playing any Mega campaigns other than Enhanced Desert Fox.
With modswap you can swap back and forth at will.

Alby,

Your suggestion works!! ModSwap made the swap of the mod without the error message after I made changes you suggested. Thanks very much!

Now that I can use the SPWaW GE with the enhanced mod, where can I save the enhanced versions of the scenarios & campaigns. I recently d/led the Watchword Freedom campaign enhanced version. Comparing the files in the zip file & the files in the Campaign folder, they seem to be the same. If I unzip the files into the Campaign folder, won't it overwrite the non-Enhanced files?

Glad it worked!
yes they will overwrite the 'vanilla' ones.
There is a modswappable Scenario and Campaign pack found here.Scen and Campaign pack (As well as many other 'Enhanced' things)

You can use modswap so you dont overwrite your 'original' stuff, or you can do as I did, simply copy your Scen and Campaign folders and store them somewhere else for back ups.
