Nemo121 -> RE: Defeating Perfidious Imperialists - Nemo (J) vs Trollelite (A) - Troll-free zone (3/14/2008 10:26:27 PM)

There was a delay with this as my damned computer crashed as I was just checking all of my 2nd day orders --- and they had taken me a couple of days of part-time work as it had been so long since the first turn I'd forgotten some of my convoy destinations [:D]. In addition there was an "issue" when Trollelite informed me that unless the technical glitch which meant that there was no combatreport for the first turn was fixed then he would quit the game... this necessitated a little discussion between us as to the difference between unnecessary politeness and the normal level of respect which we could each expect our PBEM opponents to use when addressing us. After a few emails and the sorting out of the glitch ( a preference got toggled off on my computer somehow ) this issue was resolved and onward we move. AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 12/08/41 Well the main news of the second day is that Boise went exactly where anticipated and my landings in the Phillipines and Malaysia are going exactly as predicted. In no time at all the enemy will have to make a choice between committing the majority of his forces to die in poor terrain outside of the Manilla and Singapore redoubts OR quickly ceding most of the important terrain in both countries to me in order to hold out for longer in the redoubt. I'm also continuing my aerial assault behind the current front lines ( those Mavis are brilliant, their range is such a boon to Japan ) with the preparation for the paraborne capture of Tavoy and Andaman islands well advanced and the first parachute drop on Australia having taken place in order to isolate Derby --- and draw an over-reaction from Trollelite. With the capture of Jolo and Naga yesterday and the basing of Kates, Vals and Jeans at each of these bases ( as well as a subsidiary base in Thailand in order to catch enemy shipping as it fled from Singapore toward India ) a large number of enemy ships were sunk today by single-engined strike aircraft. I confidently expect most of the Level 4 airfields in Borneo etc to fall today and then my G3Ms can join the reign of terror. Combined with mini-KBs marauding path down the eastern coast of Java and I expect to have cleared the seas in the DEI/Phillipines etc of Allied shipping by week's end. This will, obviously, greatly help accelerate my conquest of the region. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Coastal Guns at Mersing [Malaya], 23,50, firing at TF 4 TF 4 troops unloading over beach at Mersing [Malaya], 23,50 1000 Coastal gun shots fired in defense. If he fails to do so in future I'll just stop asking in, transfer fighters in, shoot all of these planes down and trust that non-verbal communication makes the point more effectively than my repeatedly asking him to stand these planes down has done. It is, however, disappointing, that they have flown again. I think it is safe to say it will fall tomorrow. Now the enemy should begin to run for Singapore, abandoning most of the Malaysian peninsula to me at little cost. My goal in Malaysia is to stampede him into over-reacting by showing him a massive invasion which he must assume is being fully supported --- when in actuality after this shot is fired there is nothing else for Malaysia. If he doesn't stampede he actually has the AV to withstand my forces - IF he plays a very skillful and well-measured game. Nothing I have read about him so far or seen in his emails lead me to believe he is going to play a measured, analytical game. As such he'll stampede and in the stampeding provide an object lesson. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ground combat at Kuching [Sarawak] Allied Bombardment attack Attacking force 1334 troops, 9 guns, 1 vehicles, Assault Value = 38 Defending force 6472 troops, 69 guns, 3 vehicles, Assault Value = 163 Allied ground losses: 6 casualties reported Guns lost 1 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ground combat at Palembang [Sumatra] Allied Bombardment attack Attacking force 453 troops, 15 guns, 0 vehicles, Assault Value = 23 Defending force 2394 troops, 24 guns, 13 vehicles, Assault Value = 93 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ground combat at Balikpapan [Borneo] Allied Bombardment attack Attacking force 1208 troops, 14 guns, 1 vehicles, Assault Value = 24 Defending force 5786 troops, 110 guns, 8 vehicles, Assault Value = 136 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ground combat at Tarakan [Borneo] Allied Bombardment attack Attacking force 2988 troops, 12 guns, 0 vehicles, Assault Value = 20 Defending force 5570 troops, 63 guns, 15 vehicles, Assault Value = 191 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ground combat at Amboina [Ambon] Allied Bombardment attack Attacking force 1216 troops, 16 guns, 0 vehicles, Assault Value = 33 Defending force 4551 troops, 93 guns, 10 vehicles, Assault Value = 150 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ground combat at Rabaul [New Br] Allied Bombardment attack Attacking force 1359 troops, 32 guns, 0 vehicles, Assault Value = 38 Defending force 9672 troops, 127 guns, 9 vehicles, Assault Value = 200 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ground combat at Kendari [Celebes] Allied Bombardment attack Attacking force 518 troops, 9 guns, 1 vehicles, Assault Value = 17 Defending force 7768 troops, 118 guns, 6 vehicles, Assault Value = 159 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ground combat at Morotai [NEI] Japanese Shock attack Attacking force 40 troops, 1 guns, 0 vehicles, Assault Value = 2 Defending force 0 troops, 0 guns, 0 vehicles, Assault Value = 0 Japanese max assault: 0 - adjusted assault: 2 Allied max defense: 0 - adjusted defense: 1 Japanese assault odds: 2 to 1 (fort level 0) Japanese forces CAPTURE Morotai [NEI] base !!! This landing is being abandoned and a more succesful one being pursued. Alaska will not, in the end, be taken by coup de main over the winter. In other news over 1500 AV are ashore in the Phillipines and will begin pushing towards Manilla from the north tomorrow. With other forces making for Manilla from the south Trollelite will have the choice of abandoning Clark to my forces and defending from Manilla OR fighting it out at Clark Field only to be forced to retreat to Bataan. At Hawaii the USN has formed multiple one ship TFs with a view to minimising the effectiveness of my naval strike groups. This is quite gamey really in these circumstances BUT as one of my intentions is to show that strategically and operationally sound play beats any amount of loophole exploitation I haven't said a thing. I'll crush his navy, rebuild my strike groups and then crush his navy whenever it chooses to show its face. [image]local://upfiles/10809/882971244B74475EA29C799630A9BBF9.jpg[/image]
