Speedy, Without making me go through the entire AAR (I slowly am but have a way to go), would you outline your basic tactics for you sucessful sub campaign? I am finding the my opponent is doing a good job smashing up my Allied subs and it is hard for me to duplicate the Allied sucesses. I am at 8/43 in my game and not doing too bad. Still there are too many tankers left. Thanks. quote:
ORIGINAL: Speedy Thanks all[:)] I think Alfred is spot on. My submarine offensive had (by my calculations) destroyed about 85-90% of available TK/AO by early March 1944. Now Japan receives about 30-40 later war AO/TK replacements but by mid-44 I had invaded Borneo which meant there was no way of getting to the oil even if they got through my submarines. Faber is also correct in that I wanted to keep pressure as much as possible everywhere to stretch the Japanese forces. The Allies have more of everything and as such if the Japanese player is stretched there will simply be places they can't match the Allies. When that occurs it's important you capitalise and strike. Gain control of the area, house planes, scout out, plan. Repeat[:)]
