Fantastic terrain !!! [sm=00000436.gif][sm=happy0065.gif][sm=innocent0001.gif]

I would say that the second screen is my favorite. Why not ship with both fine looking options? The user could then swap to the one they prefer.

e_barkmann -> RE: New Screen (3/5/2008 3:36:21 AM)

+1 for the artwork you just posted.  Nice!

sol_invictus -> RE: New Screen (3/5/2008 6:19:14 AM)

Yep, second sample looks more like real terrain. Excellent!

Magnus -> RE: New Screen (3/5/2008 8:18:10 AM)

IŽll see what I can do, I might be able to include both terrain sets that would include the user to just change the filenames of the terrain and have the "old" as backup. I agree with you guys the real terrain definitely looks better so this is the one I will go with as standard.

Grell -> RE: New Screen (3/5/2008 1:45:56 PM)

I still prefer the first one, on the second one it is very hard to make out the gunner.

Regards,

Grell

Magnus -> RE: New Screen (3/5/2008 2:19:59 PM)

No worries Grell, those are the old gunners, the new ones stand out much better.

anvl -> RE: New Screen (3/5/2008 4:27:47 PM)

Yea,, I really like the second as well,, it looks very real,,, Great Job,, Mag

Grell -> RE: New Screen (3/5/2008 5:55:44 PM)

Sounds good Magnus. [:)]

It would be nice to be able to choose the terrain tiles, even if it's done from Windows Explorer rather than as a game option. I like the more realistic grass, but it may be too busy for some users/video cards.

Adraeth -> RE: New Screen (3/7/2008 7:07:39 PM)

I prefer the second one

Tim Coakley -> RE: New Screen (3/8/2008 8:04:41 PM)

The plan right now is to have the "realistic" terrain as the default, with the "tabletop" graphics files available for the user to swap.

It will not be an "in game" option to switch them, but the files will be available through the Matrix website.

Regards,
Tim

Motomouse -> RE: New Screen (5/21/2008 8:28:48 PM)

I also vote for the realistic terrain as default, you are achieving a beautiful and accurate depiction for the game. Please make the 'arm thingy' an option to turn it off, if it makes it into the game.

This forum raised my interest in H&M. I am already a fan of the Battleground Games and got my hands recently on the H&M2 Demo Dragoon The Prussian Warmachine. Really like the demo scenario and played repeatly through it already. Looking forward to this release. I like how the leaders are handled and the formation switching. The units and losses are represented in the game graphics the right way (I always thought this was an important point to the steel panther games along with the umphhh for the armour). You care for the little men that way [;)]. I would also like to get a visual clue if there are several units in one hex.

Keep up the good work! Counting my money already [:)].
