When I run the program and check the list it does not show the correct info. It is as if it is reading from the original setup of the scenario not the save file. I have changed the destination on some task forces but it is not showing up in witptracker. Help please?

Thanks

rekm41, if you are making changes during your orders phase after you have read that game turn into Tracker, it won't detect the changes until next turn.  Tracker will only read a specific game turn one time.

Rekm41 -> RE: Happy New Year -- WitPTracker now at 1.5 (6/1/2009 10:36:16 AM)

Thanks for your help. So no matter what changes I made it will not pick them up till next turn?

rekm41,

Well you could load the turn into Tracker after the orders phase, but as was said only once per turn ...

Awesome utilty. I have a question though. Are you able to export the data to a spreadsheet or something in order to print out some of the pages?

Thanks

The most requested feature rears its head again ... it's on its way. For the mean time you can use an OpenOffice connection to do this, the instructions are here

Thanks.

While I'm here and writing,
  • I've put split panes in for all the Production screens. (allows you see more data)
  • New drop down on the LCUProduction Panel (probably should be LCU's) which allows easy filtering of Parent and Fragment units ... It was becoming such a headache in my game V Nemo121, that I had to add it for my own sanity.

    I know you guys have been patiently waiting for AE and a new update here...sorry it is coming.

    I didn't think you had much to start with in the first place. [:D]

    Now you have to deal with that ...... across the DMZ acting like a mad man. Oh wait, he is a mad man. [8|]

    Hello All,

    Just downloaded and used this on a test scenario. I recently started a new campaign and want to use this to track my game. However, how do I change the scenario? I have edited the properties file and deleted all the previous pws files and moved the current one to the directory. However, it keeps trying to read the old save game.

    HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    It will read whatever PWS file you indicate in the properties file. There is a save game mode which indicates if the file should be read from the local directory, the official SAVE directory or both. My guess is that you need to set this one properly (or ensure the file is in the right place).

    Actually,
    I think he means to reinitialise the Database ... you can do this by deleting all the trackerdb.* files ... and then starting the program again ... this clears the DB of all old data.

    In a command window, type "java -version" and it should return some version information and not an error. This will verify that Java is installed and can be found.

    kfmiller41 -> RE: Happy New Year -- WitPTracker now at 1.5 (6/7/2009 1:12:01 AM)

    Java works but the damn thing now doesn't seem to be able to find the directory no matter what install i use and it is being entered right, just says it isnt there? Is it Vista or me?

    Nomad -> RE: WitPTracker 1.0 (6/7/2009 2:38:06 AM)

    Ken, I can't tell what is wrong, but I am sure it has to do with Vista-64. I know it does some funny things.

    What happens if you open the cmd window and do a cd "c:\matrix games\chs\war in the pacific" Does the OS find the directory and can you do a dir command?

    getting an error "unable to find PW data"

    n01487477 -> RE: WitPTracker 1.0 (6/7/2009 5:25:35 AM)

    Ken,
    unable to find PW data -- recheck that the witptracker.properties file is correct.  Seeing as this is a new computer, maybe you haven't initialized it.

    Is this the only error now ?

    Dir=[C:\Matrix Games\CHS\War in the Pacific]
    GameType=[1]
    Side=[0]
    Password=[]
    SaveFile=[witp025.pws]
    SaveMode=[0]

    here is the file

    kfmiller41 -> RE: WitPTracker 1.0 (6/7/2009 5:32:33 AM)

    you know I notice that the batch file is running c:\Windows\system32\cmd.exe , and I am running 64 bit, would that be the trouble?

    n01487477 -> RE: WitPTracker 1.0 (6/7/2009 5:54:12 AM)

    Ken,
    No need to show me your Password Ken ... edit the post so that your opponent can't see that ;)

    OK, let's start from scratch ... did you do what NickWright wrote ?

    1. Have the savefile in the tracker folder to begin with.
    2. Make sure all the trackerdb*. are deleted.
    3. Run the batch file.

    What happens ? Do you have skype or msn or gmail chat, cause we can do this there instead of writing a forum message each time ?

    Also, by default, the windows install provides a "Executable Jar" file type so that double clicking on a jar executes it using javaw.exe

    kfmiller41 -> RE: WitPTracker 1.0 (6/7/2009 6:10:39 AM)

    have gmail chat but have never used it before:-)

    kfmiller41 -> RE: WitPTracker 1.0 (6/7/2009 6:18:35 AM)

    Got it working, loaded the file into the Tracker Dir and it worked, never had to do that before which is probably why I had not done it already[X(]

    n01487477 -> RE: WitPTracker 1.0 (6/7/2009 6:27:33 AM)

    Ken,
    good news, yeah you might have to copy over the files and rename them. Hope this works out for you ...

    Damian

    [edit] problem fixed with some pathing errors in the properties file.
