Plus making a dry rub Chicken BBQ tonight with aspagus. Dinner should be good.

thegreatwent -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/10/2008 7:25:21 PM)

I got no turns, perhaps I should attempt a Faber...

thegreatwent -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/10/2008 7:26:26 PM)

It is unlikely I would succeed.

thegreatwent -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/10/2008 7:26:55 PM)

And I may lose the respect of my fellow threaders.

thegreatwent -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/10/2008 7:27:15 PM)

It is a delicate line.

But life has shown me that fortune favors the foolish.

thegreatwent -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/10/2008 7:28:37 PM)

Besides to the brave go the fortunes of war!

Do you think he realises his Faber has gone? [&:] Is he residing in his own little world (like most of The Threadsters)?

thegreatwent -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/10/2008 7:29:41 PM)

Unless you try and hold Rangoon as the UK vs. Japan during the Zero bonus[sm=nono.gif].

D'oh, it is not that I didn't try. It's that set my sights too high.

thegreatwent -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/10/2008 7:32:41 PM)

Er, I'm working on it. Just don't check up on me.

Sorry mate, I got distracted by stuff [:D] I'll have one for you next week. Hopefully by Thursday, but certainly by the weekend.

thegreatwent -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/10/2008 7:42:19 PM)

LOL, NP. I know you did the trip to the colonies and all so don't feel obligated. Besides I'm the petitioner[:)]. You can be the Doge and just deny or require tithe [&o].

I've been working on artwork for someone's mod. 60+ planes and a bunch of ships

thegreatwent -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/10/2008 7:57:56 PM)

Woot, what Mod? Is it AE related or 1.806?

1.806, here's some of the stuff

[image]local://upfiles/20142/E9F43EF9FF3C468187BA45148015D9A0.jpg[/image]

EDIT: Plus I've been messing around with stuff for AE when it comes out. I won't be looking at boring grey ships when I'm playing [:D]

EDIT 2: And EDtBTR

Gotta let the artist have room to work. He'll go off into his work room (restroom, I believe) and mumble to himself for awhile. Then he'll have an epifany and run off to his computer. Voila! There is another masterpiece. [:D]

Have you been watching me? [X(][X(][X(] I didn't know the National Guard had access to spy satellites...

thegreatwent -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/10/2008 8:26:02 PM)

Actually my experience was that the National Guard had better toys then my Active duty unit [:D]

That's Historiker's mod, isn't it? He's just about the only one around here who'd ask for a Ju-187. Movable tail fin, indeed...[8|]

It's getting to be that way nowadays. What's that cartoon? Join the Guard and you're home 1 weekend a month and 2 weeks in the summer. [8|]

thegreatwent -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/10/2008 8:32:56 PM)

Still it was interesting going from the 10th MTN to the 169th FA BDE. 105mm to 203mm. First round fired I hit the deck, thought that the tube had burst[:D]. Redlegs for the win!!![8D]

Mike Solli -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/10/2008 8:41:51 PM)

The 203s are now out of the system.  Mistake, in my opinion.

What a jolly good idea it was as well [:D] They're used all the time these days, ruddervators and tailerons [;)]

thegreatwent -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/10/2008 8:51:47 PM)

Agreed! Still even a charge 5 green bag out of a 203 was LOUD!!! Sad, that when we went to the M-109's we had to discharge some guys for low GT scores, meh. What GT do you need to learn that a lanyard should be pulled and not pushed![:@]

Think I saw something called a "flapperon" once... Historiker is just an enervator...

Now now, play nice. [:D]

There is indeed such a thing as flapperons. They work as flaps by moving together, and as ailerons by moving independently. The entire tailplane on a VC-10 can be moved to adjust the AoA.
