[:D] Yeah, it's got to take most of the fun out of a game when you're testing it over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again [:D]

You have NO idea. Once I'm done with The Most Crowded Partial-Map AE Scenario Of All (aka Operation Downfall, and currently in production), there'll be a looooooooong break from AE.

I think you showed a picture of your house, but I don't remember the suburb. It's only a wussy 99 atm, but I think we'll top yesterday.

Well, depends what you call the suburbs... i have not quite 4 acres, but it is pretty close to housing developments, shopping centers - traffic is pretty bad these days (loads of road construction)...

Lots of horse farms around us, though. The property is pretty private... Corp of Engineers property on one side, vacant land on the other, and a creek on the back side. [8D]

We can always "upgrade" our current PBEM. By the time we are comfortable with AE , we will probably be done , anyway. [:)]

The only CoE property I know if is near the Trinity, Johnson Creek or the swamps of Grand Prairie. [;)] Lived near a Llama farm before, never a horse farm. The Llamas became unpleasant during the summer.

We didn't get cheated today. It did get to 104.

HMS Resolution -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/14/2009 10:11:16 PM)

Beautiful weather in the Chicago area this week, albeit a bit gray right now. Took the girlfriend out to Highwood for sushi last night; I'd be lying if seeing Sea Urchin Roe on the menu didn't make me think of good old Mandrake's AAR.

There is Corp of Engineer property all around the Trinity River, esp. at the area near the dam for Lake Lewisville... this is the LLELA (Lake Lewisville Ecological Learning Area) property that my wife goes to frequently (she takes a lot of bird pictures, and she volunteers to show people around out at the pioneer cabin.) There is also Corp property along the creek next to our house... even the Corp forgot they had this: my wife asked them about it, and they denied it belonged to them... they finally had to look it up in their records. [X(] [:D]

BTW - when i got out of work and started driving, after a few minutes i looked at my car thermometer... it was 107 deg F (~42C)... after a while, it cooled down to 104... it is 106 in Wichita Falls (not too far from Dallas).

I am. I've read most of his books and liked them a lot. Started with the novels in the Night's Dawn trilogy and haunted the bookstore when it was time for the next. Quirky but imaginative beyond your wildest dreams. And a very sound writer to boot. Highly recommended.

Mynok -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/15/2009 1:54:56 AM)

I recently read The Name of the Wind. Very interesting book. Supposedly the start of a trilogy. It's sort of a Lord of the Rings meets Harry Potter. Sounds awful but it was really good and well written.
