for my question I'll give the answer to the question.

Robert Lovack, was the first American soildier to be killed in WW2

and for a follow up question, in what year was he killed?

At the time of Pearl Harbor the top US Navy command was called CINCUS (pronounced "sink us")
the shoulder patch of the US Army's 45th Infantry division was the Swastika
and Hitler's private train was named "Amerika". All three were soon changed for PR purposes.

A: Future President of Egypt, Anwar el-Sadat, an Egyptian military officer. Along with another future president, Gamal Abdel Nasser, Sadat was part of the anti-British Free Officers Movement, and was given the task by German operatives to find a mansion in Cairo for Erwin Rommel to live in.

He succeeded, finding a manor house on Rue des Pyramides in Cairo that Rommel agreed to accept.

Okay you`ve all had long enough. This is not a weird and wacky question - asking the question was just a plain old simple excuse to honour a truly great man.

The only winner of two V.C`s in WWII and the only combat soldier ever to do so was:

Captain Charles Upham - a Kiwi who fought as part of the renowned New Zealand 2nd Division [&o]

There were two previous British non-combat double winners but pre-WWII so outside the scope of this forum.

I just tried it. After a pause there was a mechanical click and then the crackle of a needle being dropped onto a phonograph record. I heard a message in German saying the Fuehrer is currently unavailable [:'(]

You had it right, Hitler wanting it to carry bombs was indeed what I was after.

Let me guess, it was Admiral Canaris, who served in the NAVY INT SEC and was later member of the resistance against Hitler.

The ME262 was designed as a Fighter and Hitler wanted to have a Fastbomber. So they had to redesign the plan to put mounts for bombs.
It was Galland who was able, because of his reputation, to put together at least on squadron of Fighters.
The Fighter design was finished somewhen in late 43. Could anyone imagine, what 200 of the fighters would have done to the Allied bombers in 43 ?!

Not a clue. I was going to say Montana since the state had two BBs canceled on it, but it has a cruiser builit in 1905.

Hawaii (CB-3) was launched 3 November 1945 by New York Shipbuilding Corp., Camden, N.J.; sponsored by Mrs. Joseph R. Farrington, wife of the delegate from the Territory of Hawaii. One of a projected class of six battle cruiser type ships, of which only two were com-pleted, Hawaii and her sisters were designed to cope with the large German "pocket battleships" and Japanese armored cruisers. Due to the reduction in defense expenditures after World War II, her construction was suspended. In September 1947 she stood 84 percent complete. For a time it was planned that Hawaii should be converted to the Navy's first guided missile ship, but she remained in the Atlantic Reserve Fleet. Her classification was changed to large command ship, CBC-1, 26 February 1952 when conversion was again contemplated; but she reverted to her original classification 9 October 1954 and was sold for scrap to Boston Metals Co., Baltimore, Md., in 1959 after being struck from the Navy List 9 June 1958.
