It's clearly a British Matilda II. You can tell by the 2 pounder it's armed with. It was probably captured in France in 1940 and then used by the Germans in the invasion of the Soviet Union. Captured again, probably at Stalingrad, it would have been used by a Russian crew in the huge Red Army armoured offensives of 1943-45, possibly carrying the nickname "lucky", except in Russian. From here, its history becomes murky but somehow this tank made its way into Georgian hands following the break-up of the Soviet Union. Given the Matilda's thick armour, its destruction must have been due to a lucky shot. Although I could be wrong...now...where did I put my medication? [:'(] Cheers, Neilster
