Two questions:

1) How come I can't order a fighter group to 100% training? When I click to 100% it switchs the mission to CAP.

2) Allies start the game with a bunch of obsolete fighters. How can I speed up the replacement process to get some more vaulable fighters? Do I throw the old stuff at the enemy and hope he distroys the old inventory for me?

Thanks.

Hi there.

As the Allies you have no choice in your production output, although you can't choose to change your production you get all the supplies you'll even need for FREE (the Japanese CAN change production but have to work hard for every supply point they get)....

Training goes slowly and only at 90%, until the point where EXP reaches 55...

If yo loose your "old stuff" and there aren't replacement planes to fill out your losses, you will simply get....nothing...

If you are playing with PDU "on" you can disband west coast fighter groups into the plane pool and use the available planes to fill out combat squadrons. Also, using other upgrade options like the P-39 pool you can get some fighters to he front.

The first 6-9 months of the war are BAD for the allied in the terms of fighters, you will simply have to work with the tools you have been given....

"Why does it switch to CAP?"

Frankly, I never tried to set 100% training.  I'll take your word for it that it flops to CAP at100%.

Its probably is a fail-over from the LRCAP code.  If you set CAP under Sweep/Escort to 100% the mission flops over to LRCAP, which is probably what it's (trying to) doing on the training mission.

There is a "stood down" button to the lower right as well, which is 0% training (meaning everybody sitting in the O-club).

Setting traing level to 100% changes it to LRCAP, just like if you set any other mode to 100%.  100% always defaults to LRCAP.

You dont want your training at 100% anyway. Op losses go up the higher your training level is, so the pilots you are rushing to train die to op losses. Kind of counter-productive.

Yea, but what really bugs me is movement the other direction makes absolutely no sense.

When downgrading from 100% (which defaults to LRCAP) instead of getting CAP at 90% you get shunted over to the Sweep mission.

Go figure!
