Montbrun -> AGEOD Forums (9/30/2008 2:26:40 PM)

AGEOD's Forums have been hacked. Any word on when they'll be up again?

Rafiki -> RE: AGEOD Forums (9/30/2008 3:47:21 PM)

Work is progressing on getting things restored. I don't have an ETA as of now, but it will hopefully be soon.

Arsan -> RE: AGEOD Forums (9/30/2008 4:09:02 PM)

Thanks Rafiki! [&o]
Hope the hacking was not too bad [:(]

Rafiki -> RE: AGEOD Forums (9/30/2008 4:20:55 PM)

I hope so too [sm=00000018.gif]

(I'm not directly involved in the clean-up, so I don't know any details about how it's going, except that things are being fixed as I'm writing this)

KG Erwin -> RE: AGEOD Forums (9/30/2008 11:04:18 PM)

I'm sorry this happened to you guys. I check in every day, to catch the latest news. See you soon. Good luck in getting it all sorted out. [&o]

Rafiki -> RE: AGEOD Forums (10/1/2008 2:43:56 PM)

The AGEOD forums are back up :)

GShock -> RE: AGEOD Forums (10/1/2008 3:41:54 PM)

I check the forums daily and this is not the first time they are hacked.
The hacking holes for php are probably the only good point into choosing dotnet nuke...however, i would investigate on AGEOD and pursue legal action. This has happened too often lately and it can't be the usual kid who hacks a random site. Just too often is evidence enough.

Arsan -> RE: AGEOD Forums (10/1/2008 4:16:59 PM)

The forums are back online!!!
And seems nothing was lost! [sm=00000436.gif]
Besides, they used the off line time to update the vBulletin version.[:)]
Cheers!

What on Earth are you talking about? [&:]

This is the first time the forums have been hacked.

Of course, this depends on how you defined "hacking"; personally, I don't consider scheduled downtime due to moving the forum from one server to another to be "hacking", which is the only thing occurring the past few years that remotely resembles what we had now :)

GShock -> RE: AGEOD Forums (10/2/2008 10:31:43 AM)

Im talking about checking everyday and yesterday was probably the 40th time i found http 404. You should know if it's real hacking or just downtime from the move, this i can't know of course...but if there's more than 2 hacking incidents a year it's enough to start an investigation so that the culprit may eventually be prosecuted.

Rafiki -> RE: AGEOD Forums (10/2/2008 11:06:44 AM)

I'm talking about checking repeatedly every day, and apart from this week's hacking incident, I can't recall a single time I've gotten a 404 from the forum server, nor have I heard of anyone else getting them. Is it possible that there is a problem on your side? Still, I'm interested in hearing details (which URL's did you try to access and when) to see if there's something we can do to help you [:)]

This week was the first time in the 7 years the forum has been up that it's been hacked. We've taken steps to do what we can to ensure that it won't happen again. If, in spite of that, it should happen again, we'll handle it appropriately, just as we have done now.

In any case, I see little point in debating this here, wasting Matrix space on something that doesn't concern them, but that's your call [8D]

I've had ISP problems lately. They gave me a simple 'speed test' program to check 'my end'.

99.9% of the time, problems like these are my ISP.
