I've always wanted to see a WW0 (World War Zero) game. It would be an alternate history game. Basically start at the US Civil War or Franco-Prussian War time frame. You'd need to have some "sides", so it may be closer to WWII with axis and allies, than EIA. (Though to be honest, the whole Napoleonic Wars time period was a coalition led by England vs. France and minors.) So, it would be 1861 USA Russia Austria Prussian States India Uprising Irish Uprising Slave Revolt vs CSA Britain (and Commonwealth) France Ottomans Mexico Mormon Uprising (nod to Harry Turtledove) Italy and Spain could go either way. Then add in Africa, Asia, and South America issues and uprisings. OR to not have a central European block (Prussia, Austria, Russia) , since Prus and Aus were hostile at this time AND to have a wider dispersal of navies (Eng vs France and Russia); one could do it this way. 1861 USA France Russia Prussian States India Uprising Irish Uprising Slave Revolt vs CSA Britain (and Commonwealth) Austria Ottomans Mexico Mormon Uprising (nod to Harry Turtledove) Italy and Spain could go either way. Then add in Africa, Asia, and South America issues and uprisings. OR 1861 USA vs CSA Britain (and Commonwealth) come in on side of the South, which causes Russians to support the North. (There were actually Russian warships in NY at this time...just in case.) The rest then decide what they want. France Prussian States Austria Ottomans Mexico Italy Spain Then add in Africa, Asia, and South America issues and uprisings. Anyway, we thought about doing this as a miniatures campaign. It always looked like fun. It would involve a lot of diplomacy. 1870 (Franco-Prussian War) start vary a bit, but you can follow the idea. Back to EiANW... Jason quote:
ORIGINAL: Marshall Ellis We have done some reserach here and it could certainly be done BUT this would include very little diplomacy. The most important diplomacy would certainly be the South trying to sway Europe to their side but this would be difficult and repetitive after a while. Where EiA is a diplomatic game with a little war, this would be a war game with a little diplomacy.
