Originally posted by byron13 Being a lawyer and a trained parser and twister of words, this test is quite easy - or at least three of the four questions are, anyway. The answer to the first question is no. A person's answers to the second and fourth questions are always right, regardless of what answer they provide. Now the third question actually requires some mathematical knowledge. 1089, could you refresh my memory on the rule of whatever it was that dictated whether you add first or multiply first when there are no parentheses? You multiply first, don't you? For example, A - B * C is calculated the same as A - (B * C), right? If so, I get a number that doesn't seem to have much significance, and there is no hint I can give you as to what I got.
All right. I'll deal with each point in order: The answer to the firat question will be yes, when you bother with the rest. Your second statement is incorrect. Did you try the second question with your own example? The fourth has a specific answer, the value of J is set in problem three, as is indicated. As for problem 3, parentheses first, then multiply, last add. Perhaps you should re-calculate. I think the answer has a lot of significance. :D kp
