trouble with serial number

I have the Battfront version of For Liberty. Does the latest patch work on these early versions? And problem is entering the serial number my # has 32 numbers and letters separated by 4 hypons, should i be trying to enter all of these ? Thank you in advance for any help or info. :) :) :)
