Aethelwulf -> Allied overseas supply in WaW (Revised) (4/22/2009 12:46:06 PM)

I'm think I'm going completelly folly with this...

How do you manage the supplies for the West Allies?

My last try:

- Don't touch the OOB: no HQ over other, all at the same line.
- Canadian production:
*To "Canadian GHQ".
* Transferring to "British GHQ" with the "Transfer (T)" option (340 supply/turn).
- Middle East Production:
* To "Wavell HQ"
* Move "Gibraltar GHQ" to Malta in order to are in suplly range.
* Trasfer (T) supplies from "Wavell" to "Gibraltar GHQ", and them, to "British HQ".
- Indian and asian production:
* Not transferring to Europe: too far away.

Please, help me... I know the teory about supplies (I think), but I can't be able to manage it in this scenario.

Thanks and sorry my bad english... It's not my natural language.

My general approach is:

Build new HQ at Malta.

Set 2 middle east supply centers to Malta and Gibraltar until fall of France to build up large (4000?) supply stockpile at Malta and Gibraltar. I guess this should last those garrisons for years.

Set some West Pacific supply centers to Middle East command based in Port Said (this is a new HQ over Wavell).

Set New Zealand subordinate to Australia.

Sail cruisers from the Atlantic to Port Said to get upgraded by supplies that are going there from West Pacific

Set Canadian supplies mostly to Canada and build lots of destroyers there.

Set All UK and at least one French production cities to stockpile supplies at British GHQ which is moved to Manchester. Create 1 or 2 new British HQ's in southern England subordinate to British GHQ. Stockpile many (20,000?) supplies in England for future use and upgrades then build troops in England to defend against Sealion.

Pacific, South Africa, Middle East, and Canada transfer supplies to British GHQ in Manchester when they have extra transport capacity not used at end of turn.

jjdenver's plan is EXCELLENT! Hard to improve on that.

I would just reiterate, do all this at the very beginning, because once France falls, Italy enters, subs have good Atlantic bases and supply can be a REAL problem, just like in the war.

You probably know this, but there's a 25% penalty for supplies extending beyond 100AP, and 50% penalty for those extending beyond 150 AP worth.

Also, and this REALLY confused me while I was learning, for the supply production from a city or resource center to wherever you're designating that production to got to goes DIRECTLY to that HQ, NOT through the HQ's subHQ's. So setting production from Calcutta to London, EVEN if you've got HQ's chained within 100AP all the way (London-Gibraltar-Alexandria-Kuwait-Calcutta, or something like that) you will get the full 75% penalty.
BUT, IF you set Gibraltar's HQ to be Malta, and Malta's to be Alexandria, Alexandria's to be Kuwait, and Kuwait's to be Calcutta, then you could have Calcutta CITY (NOT HQ) send production to Kuwait, with no penalty, then Kuwait would send it down the line to Gibraltar without penalty.

All kinds of possibilities and variations, but jjdenver's is an EXCELLENT way of managing all this.

Ok, thanks.

But... This is the theory and I don't know how to convert to the game... Possibly I demand too much, but, could you explain me more detailed how to do the jjdenver plan? I have problems to understand it (my english is not too good, as you can see) and too much problems to apply.

Thanks in advance [&o].

This makes no sense. You can not set a hqs to a city. You can put a hqs IN a city.

I see the confusion. In all the cities I mention, I should have said to a HQ in that city, whatever you name the HQ.

Does that clarify?
