molset -> Artillery vs real estate! (10/23/2000 2:40:00 PM)

Hi Now that artillery has taken its rightfull place as the good of war Ive noticed a "small" if only a funny nuisance! Here it is. When arty shells hits a building it might or might not make visible damage to the building. The building might cave in or the roof might come crashing down. Right? One thing a arty shell certainly wont do and thats to repair a damaged roof. Unless my eyes are tricking me very often a secondary hit to a damaged building will result in a building showing less damage to its roof prior to the hit. Realistic? NO! Funny! Definately. This "Carpender syndrome" of the arty is not uncommon. While I can accept that a big shell hole is partially filled in by later shell blasts in the same area (which is very realistic in the game), this same thing is a bit annoying to so se happen with the roof tiles of a building! Is there a code connection how these damages are handled? I hope that this wont be taken as a complaint. Bug or no bug its THE GAME! Been waiting for it for 25 years! My respects to the Govenors at Matrix! Regards Molset

I believe it's the same thing with the craters in the ground as it is with the damage to the buildings which means that every time you hit it new damage icon gets pseudorandomly generated. It has been so forever and is hardly a thing to cry for, IMHO. Maby in the next game it wont be like that.
