Nikademus -> Boeing Museum of Flight (6/8/2009 12:16:24 AM)

Following my first experience seeing an actual WWII air veteran fly for the first time....i dragged the GF unit the Boeing museum to snap some more photos. As with the FHC photo shoot i figure it might be of interest...particularily for those who wanted some WWI photos.

Sounds good.

Before moving to the Portland area, I dragged my SO to the Museum of Flight too.  It's a nice museum, but a little sterile for my tastes.

I still need to post my pictures from Chino from last October.  I took over 400 pictures that day.

Bill

yes, the WWII collection is not as exotic as the FHC but they do have a couple unique pieces, primarily the Russian Yak-9 and a Ki-43 IIIa

Challenge for me was we only had an hour......and the lighting there presented some challenges. As such some of the photos may not be as good as they could be. I experimented with flash/no flash/angled flash and testing our dedicated 35mm lens. Ah well.

Here goes.

you start off in what i call the schmorgasborg room......a collection of military and non military planes from different eras.

Before the MoF opened, this used to hang in the building where I worked at Boeing. We shared a building with the mock up group.

what is it?

Brady -> RE: Boeing Museum of Flight (6/8/2009 1:36:30 AM)

Its been a while since I was their, back when I still had a GF in Seatle, the Mig was new at that time, the guy their said they got it from the Check Air Force as I recall, and when it came over they sent some ground crew along to make shure it went together corectly...

I have always been a Mig 15/17/21 fan.

They had a Corsar they fished out of one of the lakes as well as I recall, or maybe it was the sound, it was very well restored.
