I had the pleasure and the honor to speak to both the gentleman on the left. Both served in the BG the 24 flew in, the farthest left person was a tail gunner who flew 13 missions, and the gentleman next to him flew 30 missions as a Ventral ball gunner. It might be seen as cheesy but i gushed at these two, shaking their hands and telling them how much it impressed me to be able to talk to two guys who actually served aboard one of these bombers in wartime. As is their wont, both scoffed at the notion that they did anything special.....but i'll never stop being impressed. Its one thing to read about it....to debate and discuss it and sound knowledgable......these guys didn't care about who's plane has a bigger appendange than the other....they just had a job to do...and they did it. Very cool to hear them relate their stories. [image]local://upfiles/452/DF3D7D3F69604A6FA47BB8EFEFEEB29B.jpg[/image]
