Rus just about Done.

@ Kingmaker: are your apparently empty British 2nd Army (Pskov) and British 3rd Corps (Cherkasy) containers "stuck" inside Russia?

If not, then I would kindly ask you to remove them back to England immediately.

In the event that it is not just an oversight, or a game-stuck sort of issue, any use of those empty containers to gain intell on the interior of Russia is highly gamey, and if that is what you are doing, I would ask you to desist immediately.

Mus -> RE: PBEM 109 (10/16/2009 3:48:18 AM)

Need fleet and army/corps containers that end a turn empty in neutral or enemy territory to be returned to the nearest homeland province automatically.

Can't remember which game it was in, but somebody was using empty fleet containers as scouts in one of them... super cheesy.

terje439 -> RE: PBEM 109 (10/16/2009 12:16:19 PM)

Seems there is a minor bug in this game, I get the economy report of another player (Sweden or Russia)...
It says that my cities have produced so and so, but when I click the little arrow next to the city I am thrown to the Swe-Rus border.

Kingmaker -> RE: PBEM 109 (10/16/2009 12:32:31 PM)

HiHi

Seamus, empty containers can not move in enemy territory, in this game or any other, I had one stuck in Flanders for ages in 'Another PBEM' till I managed to get an Inf div to it and release it (Commanders don't alter the situation), as I will do with 3rd Corps & 2nd Army eventually. CoG is not like FoF were empty containers are distroyed if they meet enemy forces. If my memory serves me well then The issue has already been raised on the Main MB for sorting in the Patch.

All the Best
Peter

Ah, good to understand, though disappointing to hear [;)] I suppose you could just "pretend" you can't see into the provinces eh?

Or you could just surrender. I'd be willing to give you an RoP to come rescue your containers and that right there could make a big difference . . .

Kingmaker -> RE: PBEM 109 (10/16/2009 7:48:18 PM)

HiHi

How extreemly kind of you to offer, but I think I'll give it a miss and come and collect my errant waifs when applicable, thanks all the same [:'(]

All the Best
Peter

Anthropoid -> RE: PBEM 109 (10/17/2009 1:51:51 AM)

Or I could park an army or two on top of your waifs and wait for you to try to send a division or two to "rescue" them [:D]

sfunny . . . here I am duking it out with Prussia, Britain and (for all practical purposes given you're providing RoP and supply) Austria and I have yet to suffer any of these strange _empty_ containers. You're gonna have to show me how that works . . . but to do that, I guess you'd have to stop running away back across the border to safety first [;)]

. . . OHH! _Now_ I see why those are "empty!" All those guys that were in those are now in this funny icon labelled "PoW" thingy over here in Moscow . . . Strange, these guys don't seem to have too high of morale, you'd think being in Moscow with all the sexy blond women and vodka and stuff they'd be pretty happy . . . [:D]

Kingmaker -> RE: PBEM 109 (10/17/2009 4:23:33 PM)

HiHi

Re low morale of my lads in Moscow, put it down to Hygiene, or rather the lack of it, Russians are well known throughout Europe as prodigious carriers of Fleas.

On the bright side, I at least will get all those Non protectorate troops back when you surrender, on the other hand, you will not get back the 100,000+ losses due to forage failure, dead is dead after all [:D]

All the Best
Peter

Anthropoid -> RE: PBEM 109 (10/17/2009 4:56:07 PM)

Russia cry uncle? I guess I'll just have to wait for you to send your "valiant" redcoats back across the borders to show me that trick [;)]

France wishes to compliment the Russian and Turkish forces on their fine display on the battlefield!
Also Spain should contemplate surrender, if they do so within the next two months we will not demand anything but partial surrender!

Compliments are appreciated. It has been a long and tedious war against the wily Austrian Emperor. War is becoming a normal state of affairs. Perhaps he can induced to desire peace with his capital occupied.

Matto -> RE: PBEM 109 (10/20/2009 3:21:20 PM)

Well, the province anyway-the walls of Vienna are thick. I can't wait to see the next turn.

Czar; welcome back to Austria-I have missed you the past couple of years.[;)] Beware of Emperor Matto-and his hounds of war.

Oh God, I cannot understand, why my neighbours wants to be defeated all together ... please one by one [8D]

terje439 -> RE: PBEM 109 (10/21/2009 11:52:35 AM)

Oooh, the poor hungry Spaniards...Muhahaha!!

And replied btw [;)]

IronWarrior -> RE: PBEM 109 (10/21/2009 5:01:34 PM)

lol I deserve that I guess. Of course France is also out of supply last couple turns.

Not trying to whine about losing those battles, but they seem... random. I get the feeling none of the things in the manual carry any weight in these battles, and I cannot find any logic to them at all. The results of those last two seem backwards:

In the first battle, I had a great strategic position and had occupied the province which I'm guessing makes me the defender. France marched across a river and French supply lines were cut. Resulting casualties: Spain 21k, France 8k

Second battle with the same forces, France was cut off from supply but didn't have to march across a river and Spain had some disordered units (and I think I was out of supplytoo). Resulting casualties: Spain 20k, France 15k.

I actually did better in the second battle which makes no sense at all to me. These battles seem very random in nature.

NOTE: I will be unavailable from Friday for a couple/few days. I'm going in to get some "permanent birth control" so depending on how long it takes me to recover... [:D]

Kingmaker -> RE: PBEM 109 (10/21/2009 6:37:31 PM)

HiHi

Eeek I've gone all squemish and shuddery, but "Good Luck" anyhow with the Op Bill hope it goes well and you are soon back up and running so to speak [:)]

Englands T73 sent in.

IronWarrior -> RE: PBEM 109 (10/21/2009 6:45:16 PM)

Hehe cheers Peter, maybe too much info but thought others might get a kick out of the irony of my woes in the game matching RL. Maybe I can make France feel guilty about picking on me in such painful times, or at least get a shipment of brandy. [:D]

Anthropoid -> RE: PBEM 109 (10/21/2009 10:20:18 PM)

I agree that the combats can seem pretty random at times. Good luck with the *snip-snip* Bill!

EEECCK!! is an understatement . . .
