Sumter -> System Requirements for New H&M (6/16/2009 7:55:26 AM)

I was looking over the computer specifications for the new H&M game. They indicate a requirement of 1GB of ram. My old laptop only has 500MB. After waiting with such anticipation for this release, am I screwed--at least until I get a new computer?[&:]

I'm guessing that if you are not running Vista that you should be able to run the game. Might want to wait a few days until you hear some feedback from people who try to run the game with under 1GB.

It requires XP or Vista? I bought an XP upgrade but I have been putting it off as long as possible. I was going to have to do this any sooner or later, I cannot pass up the AGEOD SYW game either. I will try to do a dual boot setup, and make a full backup first of course!

There is no minimum graphics engine required other than DirectX 3D? I have an NVidia 7900 GT.

7900GT plays this game just fine, donīt worry.

Any plan to release a demo??? i play one of the older games and dont like it... i want to see how works the changes [&:]

Not sure, but I assume there will be a demo, the former games Dragoon Prussian War Machine and Prussiaīs Glory had demos.

sabre100 -> RE: System Requirements for New H&M (6/16/2009 8:11:03 PM)

I would not hold my breath for a demo, the old games were published under Shrapnel who had a policy of having a Demo for every game, Matrix as far as I know does not and most of their games do not have demos.

Erik Rutins -> RE: System Requirements for New H&M (6/16/2009 8:15:06 PM)

Hi guys,

No demo is planned for this release, but as far as I know two AARs are about to be posted. Bill Trotter was working on one for the Wargamer and one of the testers has submitted one to be posted here on this forum as well, so if you want a bit more info check back for those and also review what we've posted on the product page so far (up to 32 screenshots now as well as full game and feature info).

Regards,

- Erik

Thanks Arinvald.  I will hold off for a while until I hear how others attempting to run the game with less than 1GB of RAM fare or until I can upgrade my computer.  I do use Windows XP.  If anyone has info on this issue, thanks in advance.

TomBombadil711 -> RE: System Requirements for New H&M (6/17/2009 4:15:48 PM)

The answer to Sumter's question interests me too. If it is possible to run the game with less than 1 GB RAM I will buy the game.

Erik Rutins -> RE: System Requirements for New H&M (6/17/2009 4:21:27 PM)

It does work on Windows XP with less than 1GB in our testing.

The minimum requirement is set at a "safe" level to guarantee compatibility across systems. In reality, some aspects of the requirements are much more flexible than others. System memory and CPU speed are pretty flexible requirements, especially as long as you have enough hard drive space for virtual memory. The game may be a bit slower than we would prefer, but I didn't notice any serious effects on our low end test system.

Note that we did not test it on a Vista system with less than 1GB as that's not an advisable level of memory for Vista itself.

Regards,

- Erik

Bought and downloaded the game. The game is running fine on my computer (XP, 768 MB RAM). Only had a quick look into the game, graphics looking very nice. Have to read the manual and will probably start a battle tomorrow.
