Good Thread, this week is moving forward like a turtle in lead underpants...[:@]

USSAmerica -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (8/11/2010 1:47:28 PM)

That's because you have your eye on the prize at the end of the week.  [;)]

Terminus -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (8/11/2010 1:48:48 PM)

I'd promised myself I wouldn't start counting down the hours until I was past lunch on Friday, but that promise has proven to be impossible to keep.

AW1Steve -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (8/11/2010 1:48:48 PM)

Morning tithe.....

radar -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (8/11/2010 2:58:12 PM)

Yikes it's hot in North Carolina, who'd want to live here? Oh yeah, me!

USSAmerica -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (8/11/2010 3:00:07 PM)

Dixie -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (8/11/2010 4:16:52 PM)

I hate car insurance renewal time.  [:@]  With the amount I've paid in premiums since I learnt to drive I could probably afford to buy an entire new car [X(]  And Mrs Dixie is pushing up my premiums [:(]  Being in the forces probably doesn't help, or living in Oxfordshire.

And those talking red telephones can shove their quote where the sun shineth not.  Guaranteed to beat any renewal quote?  Hah!  Not when it's £500+ more than several other quotes and for less cover.  And they made me put all my details into their website instead of letting me use a price comparison website.  Gits.

And Josh is costing me an extra £40. Surely I'm going to be less of an idiot with my son in the back?

Good morning sirs. Off to 'work' now. Steve-did you get the turn I sent late last night OK?

Yes I did. I'll have it back to you by the time you get home. Can't face a beating from you just yet, need more coffee. [:)]

Beatings go better with a hot mug of coffee!

I always figured that they go better with strong drink...

No worries...I'm an investment advisor, nothing to do with computers. Although there's probably a large contigent of folks who have a beef with my line of work. My clients are doing well, thank God.

AW1Steve -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (8/11/2010 5:38:05 PM)

Say guys, can anyone recommend some short, one volume histories concentrating on the SW Pacific? A friend of mine is teaching a class and needs some suggestions. Most anything I've read about that area was either a general history that covered the area (inclusive) one of a series -Morrison's volume, or a bio of Mac. Any thoughts?

my only beef is with the guy that tried to charge me $2000 to do an initial work up of our financial planning [X(]. he must have some damn good advice if he can tell clients that they will make that up in a year or two...my brother is with Raymond James, so i can't bash you guys too hard [;)]

Can't think of any. Lundstrom did one way back in the day but it only covers up to june 42 and it's out of print and super pricey. Bergerstom's well known tomb focuses only on air combat. You'd have to get "two" books to add the land component. The only one-volumes i know of in current print cover the entire PTO. (Caputo ; Tolland)
