I do agree about the B-35 from a "real world" standpoint.  But it is a game and I can "make it work" in my world.

Hmm. I came up with an idea. Perhaps they could get the "rudders" of the YB-49, combined with the props; it would help alleviate some of it's bad characteristics -- a reduction in range would happen though.

Aaaand here is the Roc/Skua someone asked for a bit back.

And with that i'm stopping artwork for a bit -- I'd like to actually play the game [:'(]

RyanCrierie -> RE: Shep's Graphical Artwork (Planes, Ships, etc) (8/15/2009 6:05:29 AM)

Okay, so I lied. [:'(]

One last thing, the Grumman TB2F. The original side and top drawings were done by Tommy Thomason based off of some badly faded originals he found in the Grumman Archives on Long Island -- for one of his books "Strike From the Sea", which just came out.

I don't care if it's so huge even a midway cannot reliably operate it; I want my 75mm strafing!

Quick and Dirty mod using a profile found online and some hackery and color correction of an existing matrix P-40 top profile:

Apparently 10-14 P-40Es were used by a Japanese unit near Rangoon.

NormS3 -> RE: Shep's Graphical Artwork (Planes, Ships, etc) (8/18/2009 8:05:22 PM)

I've put together some additional art from stuff I found on the web for:

Allied
Martin Baker MB-5
Westland Welkin

Axis
G10N Fugaku
Ki-74-I Patsy

More will be undoubtly added. But does anyone have any ideas or suggestions for allied aircraft or axis, besides "MOAR GERMANS!"[:'(]

Splinterhead -> RE: Shep's Graphical Artwork (Planes, Ships, etc) (8/24/2009 8:58:48 AM)

Akos Gergely -> RE: Shep's Graphical Artwork (Planes, Ships, etc) (8/24/2009 9:10:57 AM)

The USN is pretty well covered, I might still add this one:

BTD-Destroyer

and this:

JRM - Mars

For the RN I guess this would be a nice addition:

Spearfish

DEFINITELY that! I've already colored in the artwork for the Seamistress; a giant six engined jet seaplane shown below.

Even if I can't achieve everything I want with my 1950s scenario; I can at least show how a seaplane force of F2Y Sea Darts, P6M Sea Masters, and Sea Mistresses would change the tactics and strategy of fighting in the PTO; if you can easily land and set up within a few days, a decent aircraft force at any relatively sheltered cove.

Cool! I look forward to seeing more of your artwork.

If you get the time, I would also be interested in the Dutch Fokker D.XXI She was originally intended for the east indies. Would like to add a decent dutch fighter squadron or two equipped with them.

Thanks again for your great work!

I'd like to have the pre war versions for my own use but for your "universal plane art" files I'd partial to the blue (Enterprise?)

By your command.

I already had done this side and top profile in high resolution for a Carriers at War Mod; and I just repurposed the files -- I'd already done the research as well on which colors the USN used, so. [:D]

Splinterhead -> RE: Shep's Graphical Artwork (Planes, Ships, etc) (8/25/2009 8:05:29 AM)

Thank you[:)]

RyanCrierie -> RE: Shep's Graphical Artwork (Planes, Ships, etc) (8/25/2009 11:04:03 AM)

And for Terminus - the SR-1. [:D]

RyanCrierie -> RE: Shep's Graphical Artwork (Planes, Ships, etc) (8/25/2009 12:47:01 PM)

KNIL Pack:

Fokker D.XXI
P-40N
P-40Q

Eventually, I'll do a P-51D and maybe a later war B-25 so your KNIL units can get better

Akos Gergely -> RE: Shep's Graphical Artwork (Planes, Ships, etc) (8/25/2009 1:04:52 PM)

Thank you sir!
