ORIGINAL: CrusssDaddy Hahahaha, okay my bad! I've waited five+ years without a word, I can understand how you must be annoyed at my impertinence. I'll try not to bother you again until 2014. I would call the sticky thread "When?" a word, wouldnt you ? If you have failed to read it, it is a fault of your own and not anyone else in the multiverse. Feel free to check the thread and observe planned release just before xmas, hopefully this year [;)] You've mistaken what I said. I'm the one who hasn't said a word in 5+ years, not Shannon. I have read the 'When?' thread, for 5+ years, far longer than you in fact. quote:
ORIGINAL: CrusssDaddy Once I have purchased the game, installed it on my computer, familiarized myself with the interface, prepared my gaming area with tasty food and drink, and selected the 'World in Flames 1939-1945' scenario, I'm going to roleplay a strenuous diplomatic initiative by all parties to try to find common cause and prevent an outbreak of hostilities. If nations can just work together to ensure that common goals are met and individual needs worked toward, then the greatest tragedy the world has ever known may be avoided. War is never the answer. http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=2086402&mpage=1&key=? Hi, Is it true that you want to do a pacifist wif game? Pretty cool idea. It is one way of showing/understanding how the various tensions of the times were a veritable tinderbox just waiting for a match to produce a "World In Flames". I have experimented with this type of approach out of curiosity and found that it works best when the game is linked with Days Of Decision and actually played out on the map as such. The newspaper headlines are very interesting to read through as time advances. My experiments led to a very different kind of arms race between the different powers. The initial hitch to this style of play is what to do with Japan in China and how to handle the civil war in Spain. Maybe a toss of the coin could decide whether Japan stays or retreats back to its island, and which side wins at the peace table in Madrid... Good luck with your game - it could make for an interesting thread with screenshots to show how the world changes from the 1930's through the second half of the 1940's. [sm=00000924.gif]
