Flying Tiger -> what the %$#^^$ (8/19/2009 1:30:49 PM)

check out the combat report below (this is not the full report, just the relevant bit). It looks like these 44 Zero and 22 Oscar pilots have been awfully busy. 13 offensive sweeps, over a range of at least 10 hexes (coming from opposite directions) in one day. I wish i had that sort of stamina!!

Is this for real? Or is it a bug? They did no real damage, but crazy watching the combat animations - i thought it had stuck in some never ending loop for a while there.

Terminus -> RE: what the %$#^^$ (8/19/2009 3:42:18 PM)

What I'm seeing is 66 aircraft flying a series of air combats over the same hex, in the same turn phase (only one sweep).

But I can see why you might be confused by the combat report. It's a bit... unwieldy, shall we say?

Flying Tiger -> RE: what the %$#^^$ (8/20/2009 7:27:42 AM)

Thanks T. You might be correct. But..... if it is one sweep, why are they attacking different targets each time? Asiatic fleet, then Manila itself, then a series of different PA units? And why are there slightly different additional aircraft in each strike?

It looks a lot like 13 different sweeps/escorts to me.

the 44 Zeros were from KB cruising through the Java sea. The Oscars were flying out of taiwan. Impressive coordination to get those airgroups together over the target once in a day - let alone 13 times!

Sardaukar -> RE: what the %$#^^$ (8/20/2009 11:07:16 AM)

Looks to me too, that it's same sweep with all combat events listed as separate.

Djordje -> RE: what the %$#^^$ (8/20/2009 11:16:56 AM)

If those were really 13 sweeps you would lose most of CAP planes that flew.
Also, check fatigue of KB Zeroes, it would be 100 and half of them would crash on landing if they really flew 13 sweeps.
Looks like a display error to me, it didn't really happen in the game engine that way.

I'm the Allies! This was the Jap AI attacking me - i thought it might have been part of the AI 'enhancement'.
