Bernd Hesberg -> Desirable upgrades for the lists (6/12/2002 4:45:20 AM)

It has been mentioned a few times that they should keep the last position, and that the mouse wheel should be supported.
Both options would be useful imho, but what I really would like to see is, that some of these lists (all A/C, all LCU) show the current stats of the units, at least the most important ones like morale, fatigue, average skill (where applicable) and current task. That way you could see at a glance which units need your immediate attention. At the moment you have to select every single unit at every location to see what's going on, a tiresome and lengthy procedure.
Another list comes to my mind, that is the list of ships sunk. It always switches its sorting order back to 'Sunk by' whenever new entries are made (or even every turn, but I'm not sure). Can't it remain in the most recently used order? And it would be great if the sinking date could be shown as well.

I eagerly support this proposal! Date of sinking will be most useful. And better still if sunken Allied/Japanese ships are listed separately and not all mixed up.

I am not sure that date of sinking and FOW will mix very well :)

Of course, you know the date of sinking for your ships ... but not for your opponent's ship - maybe it can be replaced by some kind of "confirmation day of sinking" ?

Agreed. That would be the right name for the date. If anybody wants to get around the FOW he could use the preference settings.
So, if each entry gets its date when it enters the list, we can easily see what's new.

The showing of the victory points doesn`T fit in the FOW not well too. Maybe they should been calculated for each side, based on the known info.

They are calculated based on the known info (at least for the sunk ships part).

When a ship is not confirmed sunk (not listed in the sunk ships listing), its VP are not included in the VP screen.

after a carries battle with no ships shown sunk, the VP go up by about 400 points. No US carriers has been shown as sunk, but hte points have gone up. Guess I destroyed a really large number of planes in this turn.

I always do it correct when calculating ships sunk by looking at the VP, even when ships are not confirmed sunk.

I have to check again - maybe other players could give their reports on it ???

Before the battle both sides showed 1132 Jap 1544 US Points.

Battle did occur, Shokaku and Zuikaku were sunk.

Both listed sunk for the Jap player: points 1132 Jap/ 2032 Allied

Allied side listed only Shokaku as sunk: Points shown for the allied
1132 Jap / 2032 Allied.

Looks like the points are updated when the ship is sunk, not when it is listed as sunk.

The game’s creators mentioned that the total VP shown is correct, even with FOW.

Noticed that, sunk ships can be shown everytime, you see it at your points if something important has been sunk. Would much more better if the VPs are calculated on the knowledge of each side. So there is no FOW, just hidden movement.

You are right, I just checked it. The total VP shown is correct even if the VP sunk ships total is not correct because of FOW.
