tacfire -> RE: LCU arrived alert (2/24/2012 3:11:49 PM)

hello,

I am having trouble getting Tracker working after I upgraded the game to the latest official patch. I also tried to upgrade my tracker from version 1.61 to 1.8 but I am getting the following error when it tries to initialize the new database:

C:\Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\tools\Witp_AE_Tracker_1.5>java -Xm
s384m -Xmx512m -jar "WitPTracker.jar"
Initializing WitP Tracker AE database.
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NullPointerException
at witptracker.Engines.GetEngines(Engines.java:75)
at witptracker.InMemoryDB.LoadStartupTables(InMemoryDB.java:154)
at witptracker.Main.main(Main.java:157)

Any ideas what could be wrong? The path "Witp_AE-Tracker_1.5" is correct I believe, I left tracker in its old folder with my startup shortcut still points to.

I give up. Cannot get it to run under Windows 7 x64. Keep getting the java out of memory error. I tried all the workarounds listed on the site.

I have Windows 7 64bit like you, several problems with Java that I have been able to resolve reading this thread.

I can also say, I have Windows 7, 64-bit and I have had no problem running Tracker. It makes one wonder what is different.

BigDuke66 -> RE: LCU arrived alert (2/24/2012 5:55:13 PM)

I work on W7 64 with 8GB ram too and till now(turn 90) it works good.

What about the Java version, I use the latest Java Version 6 Update 31.

I get a similar message when I try to initialize Tracker after installing the official beta patch:

C:\Users\Martin\WitPTracker AE Release 1.8>"C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin
\java.exe" -Xms384m -Xmx512m -jar "WitPTracker.jar"

Win7 64bit, newest version of tracker - worked like a charm before the beta patch.

From above by floydg:

Make sure you copy the latest pwsdll.dll file from the game folder to the WitPTracker folder, remove the trackerdb.* files and try again.

VSWG -> RE: LCU arrived alert (2/24/2012 9:59:12 PM)

That worked - thanks for your help! [:)]

Read my sig (and use the official pwsdll.dll, but either will work).

Hanzberger -> RE: LCU arrived alert (2/26/2012 1:10:03 PM)

Tracker is working find for me except the TF screen. Anyone else have issues with this? Maybe something to do with the latest patch? It locks up/and or/ doesn't display properly. It tries to display on top of whatever last screen you were on.

Historiker -> RE: LCU arrived alert (2/26/2012 1:14:05 PM)

The tracker doesn't load new turns.
It always stops at "Compare Bases"

Did you upgrade to the new comprehensive while you had turns loaded in Tracker from the old ? I'd guess it is something to do with that. You could try a fresh install and take the last two turns and check and if there is a problem email Floyd and I the files for bug checking ..

Do you have a floating Dry Dock moving at present ? There is a known bug with this and I suggest not going into the TF screen until the FDDock has reached its destination

It seems to work again. The problem might be that I started the tracker while starting the game. I think I read that others had that problem, too

Seems to be a problem on my end for whatever reason. Thanks as always. [&o]

Looks to me like you used the wrong pwsdll.dll file and the save wasn't properly read.

MAARTENR -> RE: LCU arrived alert (2/29/2012 5:00:28 PM)

Your right Thanx mate.

Crimguy -> RE: LCU arrived alert (3/2/2012 5:42:31 AM)

I re-read the more recent comments and upped the memory for tracker, and it solved my problems. Thanks for talking me down from the roof ;-D

Now I have to remember how to use it ;-D

joey -> RE: LCU arrived alert (3/2/2012 6:39:09 PM)

I just moved to a 64 bit machine. The tracker will not work; it did work fine before on the old machine. I keep getting the following error:
CAN'T LOAD A 32 BIT .DLL ON A 64 BIT MACHINE.
I have the latest .dll in the file folder and have deleted the old db files.
Any ideas?

dorjun driver -> RE: LCU arrived alert (3/2/2012 6:43:17 PM)

Point your bat file to the 32 bit java executable, vis "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe" -Xms512m -Xmx768m -jar "WitPTracker.jar"

joey -> RE: LCU arrived alert (3/2/2012 9:10:38 PM)

I hate to sound stupid, but how do I do that?

joey -> RE: LCU arrived alert (3/2/2012 9:28:47 PM)

Never mind. I figured it out. Boy this stuff should be easier. thanks. j

Canoerebel -> Help with Tracker (3/2/2012 10:27:38 PM)

I'm considering playing as Japan in a PBEM if I can get Tracker up and running. Never used Tracker before, never tried to download it, and don't know anything about how computers work. In other words, I'm a hard case. This may be over my head.

I'm using version 1106i of AE because I'm partial to dinosaurs.

I actually did get something going - Tracker runs...but it just gives me endless error messages (see below). Any suggestions?

Dan Nichols -> RE: Help with Tracker (3/2/2012 10:36:43 PM)

It looks like you need to edit the properties file, it cannot find your WitP:AE directory.

Where you found the files there is a tab for setup. It will show you what needs to be edited.

Canoerebel -> RE: Help with Tracker (3/2/2012 10:51:56 PM)

Errrrr, can you say that in simple southern?  I usually speak English, but when computers are involved I somehow lose the ability to comprehend even the simplest statements.  For instance, I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.

Computers are magic.  I am not.

Canoerebel -> RE: Help with Tracker (3/2/2012 10:54:23 PM)

Wait a minute, I do think I know where you are pointing me to.  I'll give it a try.
